I visited the doc last week.
They did the a1C and I was introduced to something new.

Instead of taking a vial of blood and then wait couple days for result, they did a finger prick and gave me a1C in 6 minutes. Just as simple as our daily lifescan testing... someday.

I would imagine this technology is not yet at consumer cost levels, but it sure was a new thing for me to see. Has anyone else done a1C like this?

Oh, I was at 6.6, and in March I was at 6.5. Since reading DF I have wanted to know what I have been - I didn't really clock in my numbers in the past, but since so many here stick feather in hat over a1C, I figured I'd see how good/bad I did. Those numbers don't sound too bad, but I think I like the idea of dropping below 6 - that will be my aim, I think.

Isn't it COOL! I had one done a few months ago, never come across one before and I sooo want one! The nurse tells me I can have one as soon as I save up a few thousand dollars (might have been $6,000?). Oh poop.

I'm aiming for below 6 as well. Reckon my next one will be low 6s again, but I want to see a 5 ASAP! That'll be a day for celebration :)

My endo does this pretty much every visit. It's called a DCA 2000. It always reads a little lower than if I go to the lab and get it done.

Congrats on your A1c Dan. Put that feather in your cap. ;)
Good Luck on reaching your lower goal the next time around.
