Ok simple but nescesary question: How do you folks handle fats? What is your simple and quick method for counting them up and then bolus/basal them?
I looking for easy and practical. Every time I try to research this topic I get overloaded with info and can't figure out how to work it. (I'm including food without the ingredients label as well here, ie restaurants, parties etc.)

It's another one of those things that you have to decide what works for you.
Some here bolus for them and some of us don't. Also it might depend on the type of fat and how your body reacts to it.

I have to dose for nuts and such, but not cheese or meat...........nuts send my bg's a rise not bad, but like about 50pts so i will dose for them and well cheese doesn't or meat, or tofu or anything like that.......everyone is different try it without dosing like for a snack a small amount and see where you are at a couple of hrs later.........

Ditto
I only bolus for carbs and protein. I don't even do a combo bolus for high fat foods (I try to avoid them)...

My dieteician recommended to ignore fats as well, so thats what I do. Truthfully, I can have a decent protein/fat (no carb) snack, like a couple eggs with some cheese and not bolus at all, with negligable effects on my BG.
