I am worried because I can get a good nights sleep --get up at 5:30 am to walk (most days) go back to bed and sleep 3 to 4 hours. This happens often- To day I got up at 9 am took a hot shower at 10:30 felt so drained that I was going to rest for one hour---instead I slept 4. I did not make a good choice for breakfast (part of a cinnamon roll) so when I did wake up at
3 pm my bg was very low--had the shakes. I did not test but from the past I felt like it was in the 50's

I began taking insulin (10 unit of Lantus am) on the 2nd of January and am on metformin 1000 mg 2x and advandia 4mg 2x.

Any suggestions??

Was there a reason you did not test when feeling low? Are you tesing when you feel so sleepy? Don't feel like I could begin to make suggestions without knowing something about your BG and how you handle your diabetes.

i always test when i'm feeling different. because sometimes when i think i'm low, i find that i'm high. so don't guess, test. i also use to have to nap during the day. but since a cut back on my carb intake no more naps.

The only time I could sleep and sleep and sleep was :

(1) when anemic

(2) when BG would act up - seriously high that is.

Test your BG! It's the first thing you must rule out.
