Would you please explain what IOB is? I haven't a clue.
Thanks!

IOB (insulin on board) is the insulin from your last bolus that is still active.

Thank you! I came up with some doozies for those initials, but not insulin on board, lol.

IOB is useful when you pump suggests a dose of insulin to take, it will take any active insulin into account (it will also take your blood sugar level into account if you enter it). My pump trainer said it's useful for before bed: if your blood sugar is 5.8 (104) before bed that's great, but if you've still got a unit of IOB you'll want to eat a snack; if you don't have any active insulin you probably don't need a snack. I suspect it would also be useful before exercising, but I don't know. We're still (!) getting my overnight basal rates worked out, so I can't experiment with that until we at least have those settled and do daytime testing (my blood sugar is being so stubborn overnight).

You will also see it as BOB (bolus on board).
