I am totally impressed. My meter started giving me really weird readings, for example I tested this morning and it said I was at a 49. :hmmmm2: I didn't feel low so I figured I will try again just to see and then it showed 301!!! holy ****!! I said okay and tried the drops that came with the meter and it was in range. So I said to myself best 2 out of 3 so then it showed 107. Anyway I didn't eat I didn't correct I waited until I could call my doctor. 3 hours later I get a call and was directed to call the Representive for my area. So I called this guy up explained everything and he gives me another number to call. Anyway I put it off cause I got busy at work and I get a phone call about 2 hours later from the MM Rep:hmmmm: He drove 45 miles out of his way cause he was worried about ME! He brought me a new meter, more test strips(50 to be exact), a Sleep-shirt with a pocket for my pump on the inside, USB cord, a quick serter, free supplies, and a new 2007 calorie king book. I felt like I had won the lottery. Anyway for those of you thinking about MM just from my experience so far I don't think I could ask for more.

The meter will kill you, but the service is great.

Wow, that totally sounds great! I'm going to be seeing my rep at the Portland ADA Expo this weekend and I'm planning on scamming him for a ton of freebies. I've already warned him! ROFL
I'm hoping that I'll get a new edition of the Calorie King book too. :D

That's great! I've gotten 2 free BD meters, the BD software and several free carb counting books (including Calorie King) from Minimed, but I got those at the free classes they offer. They've also handed out various other articles & pamphlets.

Reps love giving out free stuff. It's amazing how you can get hundreds of dollars worth of stuff for free from them, but you want $5 from the company and you can't get it.

I'll be going to the Expo on the 10th in my area. It's so silly...I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I go to those things! LOL That said, I really look forward to seeing the reps, conversing with them and seeing what new & upcoming things will be out (hopefully soon :****mate: - I get impatient ;)).
SHAA, that was really cool that your rep. did that for you! I truly believe that some sales reps really do care about their clients. Not all are "in it to make money or gain clients." In fact, one gentleman I met was saying he got out of working for insurance and into being a rep., 'cause he liked helping folks (as he stated, being on the patients' side) & liked the human interaction. If only all reps were like them, we'd have it made! Glad to hear he fixed your situation & gave you goodies to boot!

Are these expos like, Diabetes Expo's? I don't think we have anything called an expo EVER in my neck of the woods, lol. That would be awesome to get cool, free stuff from the reps. My pump trainer works for Medtronics and all I got yesterday was a big pad of paper to write my life down on for awhile, lol.

I've never gone to an ADA Expo. A few people told me that they were only useful for Type 2 newbies so I didn't bother. Plus, I don't think I could interest/drag anyone into going with me. I think there's one in NYC in September so maybe I'll think about going this year.

Sounds good about all of the free stuff, but I've had 2 free BD meters and neither one was worth a hoot for anything but being the link to download data! I don't trust a meter that won't give me good data every time.

I think it varies with who puts it on as each area has it's own "rep" that is in charge of it. Some that have kids events tied with them are more type 1 oriented. I think overall they offer a wide range of items for both types in terms of booths and seeing people. Not to mention, you can get alot of free stuff. It's their presentations that are more geared towards type 2.
