:) I just wanted to give a shout out to all of you and thank you for all the information you share with others!
I really learn alot on here. Pat yourselves on the back for all your help to others!
I am newly diagnosed and there are times I want to cry, to give up, to go to sleep and wake up and think the diagnosis was all a dream, etc. But someone, anyone, is right here saying "keep on, don't give up".

Barb,
Welcome to the forums. Of course you mustn't give up. You mustn't even think about it. Diabetes is not nice, but in terms of other illnesses it's like a rather mild inconvenience for most. I have it for almost 48 years now, and luckily I've never felt depressed about it, but just got on with the job of doing my best. Things are better now than when I first got it. There are better insulins and better nutritional info, better equipment, and better advise available.
Of course nothing is easy and it wasn't easy for me all the time either. I will say that if you look after yourself as you should, you will end up with far less problems. Part of that is proper nutrition and plenty of exercise. Well I think that's what worked for me anyway.
I've enjoyed life and never let my diabetes hold me back in any way. You can do the same. Start off being positive about life and all it has to offer, and each day you wake up make a resolution that you are going to enjoy that day. Now some days will be off days, but don't let that get in your way. Positivity is a great booster to the human spirit.
Whoever said to you "Keep on, don't give up" said the right thing. I hope you follow that advise and look forward to your contributions to the forums in times ahead.
