So i went to the docs 2day.
showed him my BS level logs, and he was worried, as they seemed to be pretty high.

And that it keeps flashing Ketones.

so hes given me these stript to wee on to test.
but im scared of doing it just incase its possitive.

He said i'd probly vomit and to ring him if i do.
But i have a phobia of sick, and im really scared :(

also my mum is worried too, as she knows what i get like when i have a panic attack :(

he said the nurse has told me too less insolin, and that id probly need more at meal times, as im eating alot. and my BS levels are high. she told me not to worry about ketones.
But i cant put my insolin up untill i see the nurse again, and that not untill the 1st of March and im really scared of having Ketones b4 then.

Is there a way i can avoid Ketones, without having to up my insolin?

someone please give some advice to a very scared little girl :(

Even with the perfect amounts of insulin, you can still show ketones. Ketones are a biproduct of using fat for fuel (weight loss).

Sorry to hear that you might have ketones in your urine. But at the moment it still may just be a 'maybe'.

Either way I wouldn't worry too much as if you pee on the stick and you don't have any then thats great! :)

If you pee on the stick and there are Keytones in your urine then you Doctor will tell you what to do to prevent them being in your urine in the future. :)

So either way, once you have taken the test you will have a positive outcome.

Let us know how you get on and please try not to worry.

Firstly, you're going to have to find out if you have ketones. I'm sorry but you are going to have to pee on the sticks. If it turns out that you do have ketones, it doesn't automatically mean you're going to be sick. But you need to find out either way.

You've mentioned that your BGs are high. If it turns out that you have ketones, too then I'm afraid that means your body simply isn't getting enough insulin, which means you have either inject more or eat fewer carbs. That choice is up to you. If you're not happy with adjusting your insulin intake yourself then I would phone your nurse, explain your situation and ask for her guidance as to how much you should increase your insulin. Raised BG levels and ketones are something that you do need to sort out.

HI Roxy, why can't the doc increase or adjust your insulin? If you choose not to wee on the stix, it could be dangerous as it shows you do not have enough insulin working to cover your appetite, so I certainly agree with Deus but I am curious as to why the doc is referring you to the nurse.
