Fruity urine smell?

my blood sugar is fine. its been between 5-8 thru out the whole day. im on lantus and novorapid (even after food it dont get over 10) so basicly perfect control.

but today i frequently going to the toliet like as i were if my sugar levels was 15+ and theres a sweetish/fruity odur. i dont feel thursty, im not even drinking water and some how i keep going to the toilet. this is very strange. on other days even if i drink 1 litre of water in 1 go, i dont piss it out for another 4 hours or so

this has happend onces before a few months ago and got better (that was worst tho, going to toilet every 20min.. execpt no fruity odur)

If you have ketone sticks then test your urine for the presence of ketones.

however from your symptoms, it sounds to me that you have a urinary tract infection - the strange smell, and weeing constantly - has your urine also changed colour?

in which case you should go to your doctor.

I was gonna say, it sounds like an infection. I had cellulitis once (misdiagnosed, of course) and had a fruity smell to my urin.

Could also be just something you are eating or drinking causing the change. Review your diet. Perhaps that will change things. I would not worry about it unless you are having some problems.

Maybe some kind of bladder infection or UTI? Wouldn't hurt to have it checked out.
