Do you change sites often and do you have a prefered place?

I change from my hips to my stomach area, but mainly only use my stomach and just move around it lots. But I'm worried i should maybe inject everywhere... like arms, legs, butt, belly and hips so that I don't get any lumpy bits or hartd bits. I've only had D for 3 yrs I just don't want to get tough areas or anything.

I occasionally used to inject in my butt, but it hurts :T And as for my arms..... eek I can't even think about trying that. My belly and my hips I don't feel a thing.

I'm curious, where does everyone inject?

I rotate pretty much anywhere I can reach and pinch up enough flesh. Arms, abdomen, hips, thighs, calves, they're all fair game in spreading the needle trauma around.

Stomach....just my stomach. I've had bad experiences with some other sites that have just scared me right off of them.

I use arms, stomach and legs.

In terms of speed, my arms are fastest onset followed by stomach then finally legs. I always do Lantus in legs and everything else in either arms or stomach.

usually just my legs (well definitely for my lantus at night) but if I have an insuflon in then my novorapid will go through that in my stomach - change sides every 3 days.

Usually in my kitchen. Sorry....

I inject all over-stomach, triceps, quads, and in the rump.

I use my Novolog in my arms and stomach mostly, and my Lantus in my thighs and hips. I started changing around more because I was getting huge black and blue spots on my stomach. Sometimes I still get them on my arms, and just got a surprise one on my hip....that thing is really big. They don't usually hurt, or not too long anyway, but they sure look like they do.

Always my tummy, unless I'm out somewhere and wearing a dress... then its my leg.

Umm... a bit OT, but... why do people use the leg mostly for Lantus??

In the Kitchen, in the dinning room, in the family room, in the bedroom, in the office, in restaurants, heck, I inject anywhere....I'm INJECTO....

Well, I suppose I'm not INFUSO....but that doesn't sound as cool.

I only use my abdomen and I think I need to venture out. But my legs are out because they are almost pure muscle (I'm a runner.) My butt is out because I've tried it before and it just didn't seem to work very well on numerous attemps. My arms are out because there is little fat there and therefore I think it would hurt (at least shots always did on the arms.)

I've been making a point of using all of my abdomen.....right from my bellybutton to my hip. That seems to be helping reduce lumpiness.

arms, stomach (mostly, it's so **** convienant, yet oh so muscular and sexy) and the "upper rear hip" area, as I call it. ;)

My legs have no fat on them (the only part where i can say that!) so it bugs too much. Too much hockey and baseball....!!!

In the morning my thigh and in the evening and when I need Regualr Insulin, my tummy. Just do it that way for convenience sake ... wear a night gown, so legs are more accessable in the mornings ;) Hit nerves in both places ... but in general, neither hurt :) I've thought about trying the upper arm too. maybe. dunno.

I've been on a pump for nearly 3 years now but before that I was injecting for 45 years. No lumps or anything like that ever appeared. I injected mostly in my stomach and rear and in the early days my thighs and arms.
Of course I also do the bedroom, kitchen, diningroom, livingroom and I even go so far as to do it in other peoples rooms.

I'm a pump user now and will put infusion sets in my stomach and my upper butt/hip area I started trying recently. I am afraid to try it on my legs since I really don't have enough fat there. I used to inject there occasionally and it definitely hurt a good bit more than other areas.

I am just always trying to find new places that are comfortable and the insulin reception seems to be good in. I am afraid to explore a lot of places, but I have to start spreading around a bit, I feel like I am poking up my stomach too much.

I mostly use my thigh. It's good for Lantus because the legs are a little slower to absorb it all, so I no longer get that little gap where Lantus wasn't working (I still take it twice a day for an even run though). For my Novorapid it's good too, as I mostly eat lower carb which means slower-acting food needing slower acting insulin.

I'll jab my tummy if I'm out or wearing thick trousers. I like to avoid the tum where possible as insulin jabs do seem to attract fat to the area (hurumph!)

Have never tried arms or butt, but I may some day... I cringe at the idea, but once upon a time I cringed at the thought of jabbing my thighs too.

I have done it in the backseat of a car once...........

On a side note, what part of the arms do you all inject in? Never done it like that before

I used to use my arms a lot. Didn't hurt and rarely bruised.

Whenever I inject I only use my abdomen. I've tried the thighs, but it stings too much, even more than those occasional Animas pump boluses!

My main injection site is either side of my tummy, it's pretty much the only site that's got fat on which isn't too rude to whip out in public :D

Occassionally I do my lantus in my bum when Laura want to inject my lantus.:D

I always inject lantus into my thighs. I give novolog mostly in my stomach and arms.

I jab my Lantus in my thighs & my Novorapid mainly in my stomach, but occassionally in my leg. Keep wanting to try different sites but I'm too chicken ;)
