i was'nt sure where to post this. my son is 7 he's always been underweight,he also is on med for adhd.well he is picky about food and does'nt eat or does'nt much school lunch. well yesterday he had a dr's appt so we got there early and had to wait 45 min, well since josh did'nt eat lunch he was hungry so i keep fruit snacks in my purse for the kids as well as if i am low.well josh ate two packs of these, when we saw the dr he wanted to run blood work as well as urine and also a bone age xray. they said does'nt have to be fasting so we went to the lab since we were there already, well the drs office phoned today and said the dr is concerned that josh's sugar was high,190,so they want a fasting b/s and a a1c this weekend,my question is could it been the 2 fruit snacks that elevated his sugars,he did'nt have thirst?i am worrying myself sick.

Is your son diabetic at all? If not, then the 190 could be a sign he is going diabetic. The A1C and fasting BG will tell if he's diabetic or not then more tests can be done to determine what type. Either way, he's got a great mom and there's lots of support here.

no he's not diabetic,as i said i was'nt sure where to post this. he has always been underweight at about 8 mths old he went to the 5th percentile for weight. he is 7 and he weighs 44 lbs which i think is 15 lbs underweight,i tried everything to get his weight up,instant breakfast with whole milk shakes, pediasure, etc,i just wondered if the fruit snacks would have made his sugar jump, but how much does a non diabetic jump i don't know.
