Hey guys. I was diagnose about 7 monthes ago and I felt like i was doing pretty well bye modifying my diet and taking my medecine and all... but in the last couple of monthes my bg has been alot higher then usual and i havent changed anything. Does anyone know if honeymoon phases can last as long as 7 monthes? Maybe my medicine isnt working as well anymore? I signed up for insurance through work so I cant go to the dr until I get that packet, but i was just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar?

thanks!

I think the honeymoon phase differs in length for different diabetics. It also depends on how soon you were diagnosed. Perhaps your honeymoon started before you knew...

Could another possibility can be a change in excercise routine (especially in winter) or some additional stress over the last couple of months ??

The honeymoon phase is a type 1 thing...

The limited clues combined with your limited age and my limited intelligence -- I made 50 in grade 12 math -- lead me to believe you've been mis-diagnosed as a type 2! I'd suggest you may be a delayed onset type 1: a type 1.5!

In other words: I don't have a clue:stupido:

I didn't see the poster's type... Two things could be happening. As mentioned, you could have been misdiagnosed as a type 2, I was. Or perhaps you have burned out your beta cells and are becoming an insulin dependent type 2.
