Every stupid time I have a doc's appointment, something weird happens to my bg's or duh they drop, well guess what happened in the middle of the night, bingo, drop like I don't know what it was when I started on the mm's but i checked in the middle of my 8 mm's binge and I was 46, I really felt awfully low, now I wake up at 152 yay, sarcastic, just my luck, so I am sitting here waiting about 30 minutes to eat my breakfast, but I am cutting corners on the breakfast a tad bit, Also I think i ran downstairs to grab a coke, so this was the first time I have overdid a low in the middle of the night in a long time....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Ok funny thing happened to me on two seperate occasions and actually this has happened to me a long time ago but it hasn't happened for a while till now.......
I got low after dinner last night and I had a numbing feeling in my mouth and all it is hard to explain, but then it was worse in the middle of the night, the whole mouth has the same feeling as if a body part feels like it is falling asleep it is weird, I dunno what that means, I used to think it was an allergic reaction to stuff, but hmmmmmmmmmm, honestly when I stopped using any artificial sweetners this feeling I described went away...........and I so am not asking the endo about it at the moment, cause I am fighting to get a pump and if I tell him of my low spell last night oh god he is gonna be a butt and not sign grrrrrrrrrr......oh well just thought I'd share and ask...

Also I may point out is now if my bg is really good when I take my lantus I have a pannic attack, cause I think I am gonna plummit like I did a week ago, this is why I don't want to tell the endo, the lantus is scaring the sh@#$%t out of me every freakin night, and it is putting a strain on my night time escapade life with the hubby lol...........but seriously, this sucks period, probably the reason why i over did the low, I was scared, I need to be on the pump this lantus **** is just getting worse and worse on my already screwed up paranoid, need medication mind.

It really depends on your endo whether it will be difficult to get your pump or not. Some doctors want you in tight control before prescribing a pump, others realize that pumps help you achieve tighter control and don't require tight control before the prescription. Good luck!

Cheryl, it sounds almost like you might be suffering from 'White Lab Coat Syndrome' in regards to your lows before appointments...

Hi Cheryl,
I am a T2 and I get the mouth tingling and tongue tingling all the time. It has started getting better since I went on metformin XR but it is still there and very annoying. It is supposed to be a sign of going low, but I get it whenever I have any carbs or alcohol. Whenever I check my BG it is never low. For some reason I seem to get it when my BG is dropping after going up. Anyway, I was just replying to say that I have experienced this too and yes, it is very hard to explain to people who have not experienced it. I have my first meeting with an endo next week and I will be asking him/her about it. If I learn anything I will let you know. I don't expect to learn anything (I set low expectations in order to be pleasantly surprised).
Regards,
Roger

Saw my new endo. Can't say I was too impressed. She didn't know what the tingling might mean. Only things she could think of was for me to lose weight, see a nutritionist and take medication for slightly high blood pressure and cholesterol. I figure losing weight will take care of the cholesterol and blood pressure. If not, then I'll consider medication.

Roger
