Okay - So I've been searching on the web and can't find much about this, except for one site saying it's a myth. So, here's the question: can a long time A1C - say 13+ for 4 years - cause a lower sperm count or damage the testes in any way? My wife and I have been curious about this lately as we're starting to talk about having a family - though not for several years. I just want to be prepared for whatever difficulties we may have.

Any ideas?

I have had a HBA1C of 13+ for over 5 years, I have only started taking control in the past few weeks, befre then I have been so wreckless about diabetes.

I have seen a magazine saying about high blood sugars means lower sperm count and into your 40's I think it is extremely hard to concive a baby.

Don't take my word for it but it is simply what I have heard.
