ok, so i was diagnosed a little less than 5 months ago...

fasting on 10/21 was 320
then the diagnosis
kept getting lower bg's and losing the weight
im now losing a bit more but not as fast as i should be (1 - 2 lbs a week) ill have one good week a month and lose like 4 lbs, then ill gain it back and lose it again with an additional 1 to 2 lbs.....

1.) is this normal for women with a regular monthly cycle?? (ive never been normal until now)

and then now im on 3rd shift at work (past two weeks), me thinking my numbers was going to go wacky, but they have not, my DP evidentally stayed the same and didnt move with my sleep pattern lol
cause I'll wake up at like 5 or 6 pm in the after noon and im in the 70's to low 80's

2) will this eventually change as more time passes by??

After breakfast lunch and dinners my numbers are rarely ever over 110 even with eating 70 - 80 carbs (which i rarely ever do) and up until i went to 3rds i was excercising 3 times a week, im lucky if ive done it twice since going on 3rd shift.
I test alot since going on 3rds, before meals, after meals, and randoms just to make sure im not going low or high and just staying normal.

ALL RESULTS my 7 day average is 95, 14 day average is 99 and my 30 day average is 102
BEFORE MEALS 7=91, 14=96, 30=98
AFTER MEALS 7=110, 14=105, 30=111

3) Am I eating enough?? should my numbers be higher after meals? ( i know by beirnstein, they should never be higher and always stay the same, but i dont go by his methods )

4) have i resulted back to being more "normalish" with just the diet and excercise? Just more of a curiosioty more than anything
I'm not asking this to get off the meds (Cause i think the metformin is helping my periods, I think i have PCOS)

any comments appreciated

Hi Stacey:
Congrats on all you've managed to accomplish in such a short time.

Like you, my periods were very irregular, but since being on the metformin and losing weight, they have normalized. The insulin resistence has probably had a lot to do with them being irregular, as well as the PCOS.

I think you're numbers sounds great, I'd love to have averages that good. Keep doing what you're doing, it sounds as if it is working well for you.

As for the weight loss...I've lost 47 lbs since diagnosis...and hit plateaus seems like all the time anymore. It is frustrating, i'll go a 2-3 weeks with no weight loss and then drop a couple of lbs.

I'm proud of all you've accomplished!:)

Great numbers...

Since being on the long acting metformin, my numbers have stayed in the range you have, I have increased my carbs a little to help boost them up some and to help me gain back some of the weight when I went too low weight wise.

Great #'s Stacey. I think your low numbers are a representation that you body has less work to do to get the insulin to the cells that need it. In other words, you're healthier and those are very healthy numbers.

Great job. Now get some sleep! ;)
