There is, in fact, a link between diabetes and depression... The glycosylation of proteins in the brain can affect the receptors that are responsible for the update of serotinin. There is actually a lot of information available regarding this as it is a highly studied effect. Alzheimer's and other mental ailments may actually be caused in part due to this type of condition.

On the 5th Bernstein CD, he talks about how 2 aspsects of diabetes is highly studied. This is one of the 2 things. I did a search on Google using some of the key words and found tons of information.

Ah ha. Bernstein discs. I don't have those as of yet. I will do a google though. I'm highly interested in this, given that I'm a sufferer....thanks.

I have done some googling and have found this .pdf file (http://www.nimh.nih.gov/publicat/NIMHdepdiabetes.pdf)that do talk about diabetes and depression. I found this a good read. :)

But i find that chocolate do some help. :D
