Has anyone ever experienced (or heard of someone else who has experienced) someone trying to grab their pump off them thinking it's a cell-phone or an MP3 player or something?

Just curious. I think I'd worry about someone ripping it off of (or rather, out of) me if I had one.

I'm not worried about it. I keep my pump in my bra.

Just kidding... I keep mine under my clothes most of the time anyway, so if there's any ripping off, I'm not sure it would be a crime... :whistling:

I've never thought of that one before, lol. Mine is always under my clothes, so it's not a problem, but anything is possible anymore. Ouch, that would hurt!:)

This reminds me of a movie my Grandmother would show as a kid in England (Oliver Twist) lol.

Pick Pockets didn't that go out in the early 1900's ?

Imagine that it still happens in cities.

I guess keeping it hidden in your clothes is a good thing.

Ya know I have thought about that because I have it clipped to my pants pocket most of the time. When I am in a crowded place I put in my pocket so it is almost unnoticable (less comfortable with tighter pants). But at work, I don't really worry about it...

This is funny. I was at Walmart and saw a girl maybe 16/18, she was wearing one of those shirts that show 3 or 4 inches of your stomach and a very short sleeve shirt, too. That was odd in itself as it was about 30*F. But the funny thing is she had tubing coming out of the shirt sleeve and a "set" showing in her exposed skin, then when she turned around, her pump was hanging on the back of her pants. The teenage cashier laughed and said weird place to wear your "something" (I couldn't make out what he said).
I thought so too, thinking some idiot could give it a little jerk, thinking it was something valuable and really do some damage. But the girl got mad and told the kid to mind his own "%#@*^!@ business", and gave me a look as to say, "What are you going to do with idiots". I personally wondered how her mother let her out of the house dressed that way. But I smiled, afterall she is a fellow Diabetic. Then I explained to the cashier after she left. He looked at me like I was some sick old lady from outer space. I just felt bad because the girl had cursed him, instead of explaining. Silly me!

I think I'd worry about someone ripping it off of (or rather, out of) me if I had one. When I read your post, I thought about the pain associated with some such grab (ripping the set out) and it reminded me of one of my experiences. I wasn't pick-pocketed, but when I pumped, I had my tubing snag on some guy's jacket button at a U2 concert. I got pulled along behind this guy while I screamed at him to stop moving away and eventually it snapped in two. The set remained in place just fine and I was amazed there was no pain involved. It's not like my pump was out in plain sight either - I kept it on my waistline with a teeny little loop of tubing that comes out the top and into my pants (it was this loop that got caught around the button), and I thought I had protected it enough with my jacket... but all that pushing and dancing around got it snagged anyway.

LOL! All I remember is that it was in the middle of the concert and there was no way in **** I was leaving to fix it. Didn't feel so great by the end of the night, but I'm glad I stayed thru the end of it.

try wearing your pump underneath your shirt... so no one can see it...
