And I started out at 5.9mmol. Everything was fine. I didn't think I had too many carbs because I usually only eat the shrimp and fish/ pork and beef items. NEVER fried foods, why would I waste a dim sum trip on stuff I can get at Manchy Wok LOL. About 1 hour into the meal I was 4.8mmol. So, I thinking I'm a rock star by now....then two hours later (so 3 hours post meal, and a Vanilla Latte later), I'm at 10.4. So, I take a correction shot. Two hours later, I'm at......10.4 still??? Another correction later, I'm at 7.5mmol.

Moral of the story? Up the insulin and use a square wave next time....Whatcha think?

Not to be ignorant, but how? I suppose start the morning off with a good number and just eat a steak for breaky and see where my BGs fall later?

Actually, that sounds pretty good now....I can't wait to wake up next weekend and start the BBQ first thing in the morning. The neighbours (and wife and kids) will think I'm nuts, but to have a steak for breaky, it's all worth it.

That's pretty much how I did it. I often eat a dinner of protein alone, such as a steak or a chicken breast, or boiled shrimp. Eat something like that for dinner and don't eat any carbs. If you do bbq, make sure you don't use any sauces. Watch your bg and see if it goes up. The rise should occur over several hours, up to 5 or 6...

Ditto. If it was a choice between being diabetic and being a vegetarian, I'm afraid it's possible I'd still be eating rare steaks :D
