OK I have an odd one today but maybe you guys can help:
I have spent the lat three months or so trying to get my Diabetes under control. I have reduced my 1Ac to 7.9 from 9 and am controlling my eating better now.
BUT I have, since november, put on 5 kilos!!!! I am now the heaviset I have EVER been (78 kilos.. Not sure what that is in pounds) and I hate it! I am eatig waaay healtheir than I ever have.. Granted my excersise isnt as much as it could be but im just so tired all the time. Tired and sore. My back is always tense, ive always got a headache... I just dont feel at all great. I tried to do a solid week of excersise , but it just made me feel worse!!!

I thought getting my diabetes under control would help me feel better but really, it hasnt.

My question: How can I go about losing weight properly when IM just so tired??

I'd definitely try to incorporate excercise into your daily routine as much as possible. I have read somewhere that losing weight solely by watching what you eat is much harder to do... Find some kind of activity you enjoy and do it ~ not only will it help you in losing weight, but it can help you deal with the stress of life too. Also consider seeing a dietician. It sounds like you are eating pretty healthy, but perhaps there are ways to eat even better.

I wish I could tell you an easier way, but if there is, I don't know it...

Good luck.

I'm in sort of the same position as you. I really need to lose weight. What I've done is I've made an appointment with my dietician now that I am really ready to get down to business and lose this weight. Hopefully she can help me sort out how to start.

Do you have a dietician?

I have been given a referral and am now waiting to hear back from a dietition.. I actually got told the other day that i eat too little!! Not enough calories or something...
I try to keep my incidental excersise up, such as using the stais at work, walkling an extra 500 from bus stop to home that sort of thing.. I love to dance and i love pilates but its just the money!

Have you had your thyroid checked? If you are gaining weight and tired and modified your eating then that's the 1st thing I would check.

That's the first thing I thought of too. Fatigue + weight gain is certainly suggestive of underactive thyroid.

All you do is tell your gp your symptoms and he should just pin point the problem straight away it is just a simple blood test. If he is a bit thick give him a gentle prod in a diplomatic way :D
