I have moderate ketones in my urine I cant seem to get below 350 all day...I know it is a stupid question, but should I go to the hospital. I dont want to be dramatic.

Have you been taking more insulin? What type of insulin do you use? Are you a pumper? Is it possible your insulin has gone bad? Are you pushing fluids?

I am on the deltec cozmo pump....and I keep doing correction bolus but it is not going down. I am urinating very frequently. Also I just got my new insulin a few days ago.

It's time to do an injection with a syringe then, and go from there.

I'd also suggest doing a temp basal, like +200%, until you get the bg down.

Hi love2sing, You have already been given great advice from fellow members, in previous posts you mention having cellulitus. That's probably the culprit. Take all antibiotics prescribed, drink plenty of water and see your doc, to be sure you're on the mend.

Good Luck,
Margaret

No, not unless the person has major beta cell exhaustion. The cause of ketones is a lack of insulin, so if you make insulin they won't be a problem.

Of course anyone can get starvation ketones, or ketones when they are sick.
