Last night, I received part of a recorded message from UPS with half of a tracking order. This morning, I called Smith-Medical and got the entire tracking number. My updated pump is on the truck "out for delivery" today. I can hardly wait...

Awesome! I remember that feeling. I was afraid the truck would have a wreck with my pump in it, lol!
The pump is a wonderful thing. Congrats!:)

UPS just delivered my upgraded pump. It came with software but not a new Cozmonitor. In reading through the instructions, I can transfer all the data from my 1700 to the 1800 but I have to upload all my information to Ver 1.0 before installing 2.0 because 1.0 will not work once 2.0 is installed. Then I go to Program Files and copy the information and paste into 2.0...

Pump looks used but in no worse condition than my existing one. New window with plastic protection, a CD with all the training material on it, a CD with Cozmanager 2.0 on it, a huge user guide (8 1/2" x 11" with 222 pages), a programming booklet to write down all my current settings so I can program my new 1800 and a UPS label with a padded box to return my old pump. I also have instructions to write the old serial number on the box. I also received two AAA Duracell batteries and a new cap for my Cozmonitor.

It will probably be tomorrow before I get everything set up. I feel like a kid in a toy shop with a new gadget...

The good news is that they are at least shipping them - some rumors had the process starting in April

Looking through the guide will help you know what all the new features are, but you won't need it to set or use the features. Some of them will not be on a menu until you turn them on. The implimentation is well done IMHO.

I've already run into a problem...I tried to install the CozManager software and get an error message..."Unable to update registry. The following files failed to self register.
c:/windows/system32/msxml4.dll"

I'm not sure if it is a software problem or my computer problem. I have msxml4.dll in Windows (I downloaded it from the internet).

Any suggestions anyone???

Thanks.

There are a lot of files in my Windows temp file. Will I screw up my computer by deleting them?

I had no problem. I have xp with service pack 2
Mine was a new installation without an earlier version of Cozmanager.

I followed Doug's suggestions and deleted all temp files, rebooted but same problem exists. I'm now wondering if Ver 1.0has something to do with the failure to self-register. I think I'll copy my data files to another folder and uninstall Ver 1.0 and see what happens.

Deleting temp files is just a good practice when ANY install fails ...

Ill research the error further

I received no phone call just a UPS note on the door..

Maybe try installing it manually from here

Im doing my install now - will let you know

I saved my history file and deleted Ver 1.0 but that didn't solve the problem. I may have a bad CD. If I don't get this resolved this evening, I will call Smith-Medical tomorrow.

How would I install it manually? From where?

I'm off to watch "Dancing With The Stars" now.

I was able to install the software on my husband's computer but still cannot install it on mine. I'm not a computer expert so am baffled at what the problem could be.

I called Smith-Medical and talked to one of the technicians. He had not heard of this problem so will do some research and call me back. I told him what I had done so far so he can see if there is another alternative.

I'm wondering if one of my existing programs is preventing the Cozmanager Software from loading. Meanwhile, I'll use my husband's computer to set up my pump.

Okee then.

I just called Smith's too. All my paper work is set for the upgrade, but the rep still had no clue when I would get it. Fantastic. Probably in a "few weeks." **** it, I don't have this much patience.

In other news, my clip is cracked, and she offered to sell me a new one. No way. Feh.

What is the number in the "upgrade wait list" of the people who
already got the email for the training and the test?

I was told my daughter is around 130 on the list, and we are
still waiting. The rep said they did not get to her place on the
list yet.

You might try turning off any virus protection programs you have, like Norton. Don't for get to turn them back on afterwards though :)

Was it Scott? He was awesome when I had a problem. Mine was one that he hadn't heard of before either. He spent a couple of hours talking me through all kinds of things and finally it all worked.

Worldcrzr

Yes, it was Scott. He hadn't heard of my problem but will do some research. I did turn off all anti-virus programs and shut down any open program using alt.control.delete. I have no other options now. I've done everything I can think of. I need to start programming my pump so I'm kicking my hubby off his computer so I can do it this afternoon.

I found an answer on the Microsoft site to my install problem. I went into ADD/REMOVE programs, removed three of the offending dll's, rebooted my computer and installed the 2.0 Software. It went in without any problem this time. I called Scott at Smith-Medical and he said I shouldn't have any further problems. He was glad that I called him back in case he gets this problem again. He also said that if Microsoft Updates try to download it again, I shouldn't have any problems. Now, I can let hubby have his computer back...

Thanks to Doug and all who offered assistance...

I just finished downloading all my settings to my new pump. Anyone know how to change the old serial number to the new one? They didn't do that when they programmed the 1800 software. The old serial number shows that it is quite a bit older than the one I'm giving up. I may have to call Smith-Medical because the number in the pump and the one on the back do not match.

I'm tired now so think I'll shut this computer down and relax. I made a career out of this upgrade and I'm retired so didn't need a new career...

You weren't kidding about the huge user guide. Much bigger than the old one.

You didn't think an UPGRADE could come with a smaller manual, did you?

Hi egi,

I contacted Smiths through the website, to see if they had sent the e-mail to me yet (so I could do the test). I told them that it was possible that the e-mail had been sent to my junk folder & was deleted, or that I accidentally deleted it myself.

They looked at the records & said they received my paperwork (as they noted the e-mail addresses matched) and told me that I'd be receiving the e-mail within the next couple of weeks. They also stated that the upgrade list is approximately over 6,000 people (or so). If that's the case, I can certainly understand the delays! I think the company is trying to do it in waves....Perhaps the East & South first, then on to the mid-west, etc.? Or, it could be whoever signed up for it first...not sure.

At least not THAT much bigger. 142 pages vs. 222. And the pages got bigger.

I think the "squeeky wheel" is getting the pump. I called and emailed until they were tired of hearing from me. I have no idea where I was on the list except I did call early the first day the phones were available. And, I was told by an executive at Smith-Medical that they are filling the phoned in list before the on-line list. As more of us send our pumps back, the faster the process will become.

Hi, I have the same installation problem. Can you tell me which 3 dll's I need to delete? Thanks!
