Darn Hypos - Happenin' right now...what a ride...

Well, I'm not really complaining here, just more of a question really. :)

I'm hypo right now and as is usual for me, when I do feel one, I start so shake. First my hands, and then my thighs (**** it's hard to type during the shakes).

Here's my question.

Is it odd that my right hand shakes way more violently then my left (which almost doesn't do anything)? Also, why is it when I just "sit", I don't feel the shake as much, but the moment I try and move my hands (like in typing), or even walk, I shake worse. I usually then just sit down again (my thighs feel like they've just run a marathon and standing is a chore).

I try to sit as much as possible during a hypo because I feel so shaky if I stand up, always feel like I could pass out, although I don't. My hands don't shake, but I sure feel absolutely rotten.
I'm having a lot of hypos right now, so I'm busy changing my basals. Got tired of asking the dr. if I could do it all the time, so now I just do it and tell her later. She seems okay with that so far.

I don't shake violently, but if i am having a really bad hypo, i've noticed I twitch a lot.........

I think it's your brain running out of glucose to keep everything under control....

People have been know to have seizures or convulsions during a hypo. :eek:

I think by sitting, you are bracing the body which makes them easier, I don't get the shakes but do tend to walk as if on a boat, my balance is off...But if you are having them that bad, i would call the doctor or at least have something nearby to eat to counter act these

i get the shakes in my hands first it only goes to my legs when it's a really bad hypo and then i feel like i can't walk.

as for only your right hand shaking, it could be some similar type thing to parkinsons, when they are not doing anything the tremor is much reduced but when they try to do any fine movements with their hands the tremor is really evident.

I suppose I should clarify. I'm not shaking violently like convulsions or anything, but from a healthy persons point of view I AM (CANADIAN)...sorry, small joke....I am shaking in my hands and it is visible. I've walked around here at work to show everyone what it's like so they know I'm not pissing around when I say I'm hypo.
