I don't know about your meter-but your Mom's number is a bit on the high BS rate-
normal numbers should be between 80-120 mg/dl (milligrams per dialiliter)(<-spelling?)

Hi,
In the UK they use mml/L (millimole per litre). In India I assume they use mg/dcl ( milligram per decilitre).
To change mmml to mg/dlc you multiply by (approx) 18:
7.5mml is about 135mg/dcl
180mg/dcl is about 10mml.
There is a converter on the site (under site navigation converters)

Learn something every day. I was always under the impression that mmol/L was used everywhere except the states. Where else do they use mg/dl?

Here in France they're awkward, the meter is in mg/dcl but the French use mg/litre so I have to remember to put in the decimal point when recording it in my log book otherwise my doctor becomes most confused.

180 = 10
this isn't necesarrily a terrible number as you don't say when it was, if it's fasting- yeah it's a bit high, but it could be an hour after eating.

I think that's the system here in Spain. I'm American, my partner is Irish and we live here! His doctor was going to give him a UK conversion chart but I think it will be easier to understand the way it is now. He just started his first day of doing these tests. The very first reading of the day (no food or drink) was 259, after breakfast it was at 291, but the last reading he did was 104, which can't be right, could it? He has one more to do tonight and tomorrow the doc is going to analyse today's data and let him know what the next course of action is. The machine he's using is a borrowed one from the doc, but today she said she would hunt around and pick one out for him so he'll have his own tomorrow.
