My wife has scratched her new pump screen (less than 2 weeks old) and is pretty upset about it. Does anybody know if this is repairable and is there any skins out there that will cover the screen itself? The scratch is approximately 1/2 inch long on the viewing screen. Thanks

What kind of pump does your wife have?

Call the hot line, tell them the screen is scratched and you can't read what is displayed. Most cases they will replace it. You will get a refurbished pump though.

Does anybody think that a scratch repair kit (i.e. for a cd) would fix the scratch? I hate to get a refurbished pump when hers is so new. I personally do not think it looks that bad but it has her upset.

I wouldn't try that. Quite honestly, we wear our pumps all the time. They're bound to get scratched. My pumps last maybe a week before they have some kind of scratch.

MM makes a leather case that won't fix the current scratch but will keep it from getting scratched any further.

Thanks for the link. I do believe I will give this a try. Worst case senario is that the screen might become cloudy I am guessing. I appreciate it!!!

If you are going to try to remove the scratch, I would go with something like Applesauce Polish Restores the Original Finish to Your iPod (http://www.applesaucepolish.com/). That should not leave any cloudiness or anything.

Additionally, if you are that worried about scratches and want to go overboard, once you fix the scratches you can get something like ShieldZone - Screen Protector for iPod, PDA, Cell Phone & PSP (http://www.shieldzone.com/). They will make a custom one for your by request, but they run about $25.

I buy a package of the PDA screen protector film at Staples, cut a piece to the size I need, and stick it on my pump screen. It lasts for months, so it's relatively cheap, and no more scratches. I've had the same 12-sheet package for 6 months now, and only used 2 sheets so far. I have this stuff on my PDA (duh!), MP3 player, cell phone and even my digital cameras.

RLK (Becky)..........what a great idea!

I had a noticeable scratch on my screen and tried a liquid plastic scratch remover, but it didn't work. Several months later my MM-515 died and Mini Med mailed me out a replacement. I'm going to pick up a package of those protector films so that it doesn't happen again!
