As much as I love and prefer Sure-T's over the Quiksets, they sure can hurt like ****! If I put it in a particular spot (like my upper bum), it'll feel like a bee sting when I wear closer-fitting pants or put pressure on it while laying in bed. So when this happens (like last night) I have to either change or move the site somewhere else, but that can take 2-3 tries before I finally find a spot where it won't sting me.
But they sure do work great once they're in right!

Why is it that you prefer the Sure-T's over Quicksets? I mean, it sounds like you do have some success with them, but what made you choose them?

I have trouble getting Sure-Ts to stick to me! I'm wearing one now and have been wearing it for almost 48 hours. A record for me. But I haven't showered yet today :/

I wear 6mm Rapid-Ds (the equivalent to Sure-Ts) and love them. If the set's in a bad spot I'll also get that "bee sting" feeling, but like sierradawn, I just move the set to another location.
I've used Quick-sets in the past, and can say this: Between the two, I'd Always opt for Sure-Ts/Rapid-Ds over Quick-sets! If a Sure-T causes pain or discomfort, you can simply remove & re-insert....No problems. With the cannula sets (Quick-sets), you'd either have to Very carefully re-insert the needle (NOT recommended!), or you've basically wasted a set. Then there's the possibility of having bent cannulas. I never once had any Rapid-D sets bend on me while inserting them, or while wearing them.
It doesn't appear that MM offers any other sizes than 6mm Sure-Ts, but with Rapid-Ds, users can opt for different lengths...6, 8 & 10mm. With Quick-sets, users can get either 6 or 9mm. That's not bad either, but it's better to have an extra option. ;)

The reason is because with the Quiksets, I too often got bent cannulas and thus got the no delivery alarm.
With the Sure-t's I never get this problem. I'd rather have to move a site than waste a quikset.

This is what I do: I use an I.V. Prep on the site to give it that extra stickiness. I let it dry for a bit and then I quickly insert the Sure-T. Then I cover it with an IV3000. Works like a dream, even in the shower.

Oh, and they're cheaper, too! I still have to pay my co-pay so every little bit helps.

Thanks for explaining that... I was curious. Hopefully, the stinging problem isn't too big of a problem, b/c it sounds like those sets work for you... I may have to give them a whirl at some point - that is, if I can get a little braver!.

Ha ha, I know what you mean. When I first tried them, I didn't even know I could get that stinging sensation. The first time I felt it I was like, "What the heck????". I'm not sure why it hurts like that (anybody know??). I'm guessing it's touching on a muscle?
However, once it's in a good place, it's like it's not even there.....no pain, no nothing. :) And great control.:D

I have the same problem. I usually end up trying 3-5 places (all on the same IV3000) before finding a good one. That's actually why I love the Sure-Ts; it's no problem to just move it. I'm allergic to teflon, also.
