Rather than jack the cgms thread, I will start my own.
The cozmonitor case for the strips/poker is the same size as my freestyle flash case. I'm not carrying less stuff.
Why didnt they put some RF/bluetooth/zwave type communications in the pump, and have a meter communicate with it? You could also use the comms to get data out of the pump as well. Data in and out...maybe a cgms device and a remote bg meter.
Can I even snap the cozmonitor on and off the pump without removing the battery or resevoir cap?

Unfortunately MM still owns the patent for RF communication with a pump. So no CGMS with other companies will connect to a pump that way until their patent expires unless they use a different method. I still don't see why they couldn't make a cozmonitor type attachment that was RF based for a CGMS to connect to. Technically, it would not be in the pump so depending on thow the patent is written it could get around it.

I agree Bluetooth is the way to go.
I don't particularly like the design of the cozmonitor myself, but I will say this. I wouldn't use a monitor via bluetooth either, unless I had more than one. I can't be tied to one meter. I need one in my purse, one in my backpack, one in my desk, etc. Either I leave separate meters all of those places, or I use my cozmonitor and leave a lancing device and strips all of those places.

patent on RF with a pump? wow.
what does the omnipod use? or is that not considered a pump?
I think bluetooth and zwave are forms of RF. I'll ask an RF guy at work tomorrow.

I'm not sure how the patent reads (as I've never seen it) but I think in a general sense it is a patent with a pump and any glucose device. Again, if I could ever find that patent I'd be extremely happy
