Just got the Minilink CGM kit for my 722

Before this I was using a Guardian RT CGM and loving it now that I finally got the CGM kit for my 722 I love it, works great EXCEPT the alarm might not be loud enough to wake me up if i am low and the pump is underneath the covers. Anyone feel the same way or have a solution for this ? was thinking about putting the pump closer to my head with a different kind of attachment belt. Currently I just clip it to my boxers and go to sleep and the alarm compared to the loud noise and the strong vibrations of the old style cgms gold shaped guardian RT (not the newer pump shaped version) that would really wake up the dead, the 722 alarms are quiet and the vibrations aren't that strong. . I tried to use the minilink transmitter with my old school Guardian RT at nighttime but they are incompatible for some strange reason. This really bugs me the CGM is accurate and works great but I really wish they could make the alarm louder as I sleep like I am already in a coma. Interested to hear other people thoughts or solutions for this problem.

Thanks for posting the pics, John! Sorry to hear the new MiniLink won't work with your older CGMS. I have heard the same complaint on alarm levels from other users of the Paradigm 722, but am not sure what they do to remedy the problem.

I've trialed the older model CGMS (similar to the one pictured) and was quite pleased with its accuracy. I'm looking to purchase the actual Guardian CGMS unit (the newer model) within the next couple of weeks. I just need my endo to write the script and letter for it.

Sorry I can't help you on the alarm issue, but hopefully someone else might have an answer.

Thanks for the reply Dewey. I was foolish or smart enough to fly down to texas and get the Guardian RT when it was first release in limited cities lol and mine wasn't one of them. The MM CGM's are very accurate and wonderful little machines in my experience with them. It's a little disappointing to switch to the "newer" pump assisted variant and find that the clunky old school Guardian RT did a better job at waking me up. Minimed is a great company I have been using their stuff since 1995 I'm pretty suprised to see this essential CGM safety component absent. I could care less about the fancy charts and info the CGM produces as long as it wakes me up and saves me when I'm sleeping. Besides this complaint which is a pretty big one the 722 CGM works like a charm.
