I suppose this has been asked several times but I can't find a decent thread with the results.
1 - How long have you been using an insulin pump?
2 - If you have infusion set scarring, how long were you pumping before you started scarring?
I'll start for reference. I've now been pumping 7 weeks.

I have been pumping for six years and a half years. As far as scarring goes, I don't think I have any that is causing absorption problems. I have a few small marks, but I avoid those spots until the mark disappears.

15 months pumping and no scarring so far!

8 years pumping, and I have some areas that don't absorb as well as others, but no lumps or hard areas of scar tissue. This is mostly my own fault, as I was a stomach-only girl for years. I'm hoping that, by using other areas and different sets now, my stomach will become more usable again.

I started pumping the week before Christmas 2000. I think I do a good job rotating my sites and have no scarring yet.

Been pumping for 9 1/2 weeks. So far no problems, other than little marks left by the infusion sets that go away after a few days.

Pumping for a little over 5 months now. Iwas only using my stomach area but have since moved around to the backside of my waist. Absorbtion is the same as the stomach. I should be able to rotate all these sights pretty well without scarring.

I barely have any scarring, but the small amount I have took many years to form (at least 10).

I will be pumping for 4 years 4/28, happy almost anniversary to me.:D
No scarring and I am only a tummy girl, too chicken to move elsewhere.
When I was on syringes, only did legs for decades and they are not pretty, until I change to my stomach.
Almost time for me to get a new pump and probably will do Medtronic, because I have not had a problem with my current pump, looking for wood to knock on.

Since January 2007. No scaring. I rotate sites very well and can't see the previous site after 2-3 days.

1 - How long have you been using an insulin pump? Not anymore, but did for 7 years.
2 - If you have infusion set scarring, how long were you pumping before you started scarring? Took about 6 years before I had serious problems.
Since January 2006.
No permanent scarring. I can see where the last 4 or 5 sets were but the mark fades away in about 3 weeks. Probably takes that long because I just rip 'em off, like a bandaid.

4+ years and no absorption problems to date. My stomach however looks like a war zone but after taking a pump break for 2 months I now know that all the marks I have will clear up.

these results are very interesting, but a little scary at the same time. I think it shows really just how new pumping is (not the technology but the widespread common use). I really wonder if pumpers can continue for 40 years of pumping? I suppose most of us will find out eh?

pumping 6+ years. cant use my upper buttocks or anywhere below my belly button. i currently use breast, arms and upper abdomen. i think i have mre scar tissue under the skin than mst people due a genetic problem i have that cause floppy blood vessels and fragile skin and body tissue.

Going on 4 years here... I do have some slight scarring, but most have faded with time.

I've been pumping since November of last year. I couldn't tell you if I have any scarring because I have so many stretch marks, from having 5 kids, that I can't remember what normal skin on my belly looks like!

A little over a year pumping. Individual site marks seem to disappear in a few days. No visible scarring, so hopefully none below the skin either. I change sites every two days and rotate every site change between arms, tummy, hips and thighs to try and prevent scarring, in the hopes that will help.
cheers,
j
