Looking for a cheap software and a cable

I have been using Ultra Smart but I do not have the cable to download the results. Is there any source that I can get it less than $30 ?

Call Lifescan and tell them you saw an offer for a free freestyle meter with 100 strips and a free cable. Worth a try.. no? Meter companies will usually do quite a bit to keep you as a customer.

Call your CDE and see if they have a relationship with a Lifescan rep. The reps will usually give you the cable for free, and the software you can download for free from the website.

The best way time and time again is to call Lifescan or your doctor and ask for the local Lifescan Rep in your area. Then contact the rep and tell them you have an older cable and computer and you can't use it with your new computer. They will then send you the cable for free.

The software can then be downloaded from their website if you select the "Upgrade" option.

I can confirm this works because I just had my brother do it (after he swiped my cable) and I picked up his new cable from the rep last night. No cost to anyone. :)

I will say if you just ask the people at the 1-800 Lifescan number then you are asking for nothing. They are trained to give nothing away for free.

Jedi, I emailed them numerous times and was told that they could not tell me my local reps name. My thinking was could not or would not.

Get the cable somehow,someway. I got mine a month ago, very cool charts,graphs etc..

Try again. It took me a couple of tries to get the new USB cable to replace the serial cable. Hey, I can send you my serial cable if you can use it (and I can find it). You need a serial port on your computer.
