Just wondering How long after you were diagnosed did you go into your honeymoon period? How long did it last? Were your numbers pretty normal?
We still don't have a straight answer on weather my husband has type 2 or 1.5. I am inclined to think it's type 1.5 because of the presence of GAD 65 antibodies. Also he has had WONDERFUL control, with very little effort after his initial diagnosis. Not to say he hasn't changed his eating habits, but he has been getting slightly more lax and better glucose number.
He was diagnosed in January with an A1c of 9.2 and just last week it was 5.8. So the doctor took him off lantus and increased his metformin to 2500 mg a day.
Anyhow, my husband was super hungry and went to an all you can eat place today, and he told me he pigged out. His post prandial glucose one and a half hours later was 94. He hasn't had a number above 140 in almost two weeks.
So he asked me if this was because he was in a honeymoon. I am assuming it is...just wondering what you all think, and what your honeymoon experiences were like. Thanks in advance.
