View Full Version : Thinking about going back on the pump

I've been on the inhaler for the last year (drug trial) and it's gone great, I'm just tired of carrying it around. I miss the basal flexibility of the pump as well. For instance, being able to turn it down if I go out drinking. A1Cs have never been better.

I'm not looking forward to being attached again, worrying about my infusion site when I sweat or go swimming, etc.

Realistically, I'll more than likely be moving away here at the end of the year and won't be able to drive back and forth to make my appointments for the drug trial anymore anyway.

I think that it would be too many changes for me at once if I were to wait and go back to the pump at that time. Moving, new job, new city, etc.

Part of me worries about what if I don't like the pump anymore but I guess I can always use shots for pump vacations. I have my basal set pretty well through the drug trial.

I guess I just need to vent for a while.

QUickie....on which was your A1C better...the pump or the inhaler? You weren't really clear there. And which do you feel you had a better choice in eating with?

A1Cs better with the inhaler. Then again, a lot of that was making better eating choices.

Better choice in eating? Either really. As long as I don't go crazy, both seem sufficient in keeping my bg under control. On that note though, the combo bolus can't be matched for overnight control with a huge protein/fat meal before bed.
