OneTouch Ultraeasy?

Has anyone used the OneTouch UltraEasy?

I've just sent off for one for a free upgrade for my Ultra.

What's the lancing device like with this meter?

First of all...why the heck can't the American name be the same as every other country? That is the same as the UltraMini in the US.

I am still awaiting my free one but the biggest downfall I see is it can't connect to a computer.

I personally like and use the lancing device that came with my mini (even tho I dont us the mini! LOL)

I got my free one (along with another ultra 2) in today and my statement on it would be what's the point? I know it's supposed to be the smaller size but when it's in it's carrying case placed beside the ultra 2 they are about the same thickness, it's not as wide but it's longer so to me you are gaining very little if anything size wise comparing both in their pouch. I'm not saying it won't appeal to everyone, especially if they don't plan on uploading to a computer, but I personally don't see much point to it in my case.

see im looking to perhaps have it just in my pocket with a lancing device and some strips. Im gettin a little bit sick of carrying two cases around with me, one for my inuslin pens and one for my ultrasmart.

I dont test as much as i used to now,and dont upload to the computer any more... have a laptop now and haven't really missed the uploading so i guess i dont really need it.

I currently use the accucheck lancet which i really like.

If you go look at the life scan web site details of all meters are on there.
Looking at the details for the Ultra easy makes me think it is more of a down grade.
Only holds 50 test results!

But the idea is you can easily stick it in your pocket. However....

Why nobody has created a meter with a lancet and strip holder in it is what I want to know. Something like the "disc" idea for strips but then add on the side a lancet.

Isn't that what the Accu-chek un-Compact Plus is suppose to be? My first meter was a Dex and it was a similar set up, and I hated that thing.

I use the Flash and love it because of its small size. I agree with Stu that is sort of silly for them to come up with smaller and smaller devices, only to put them in the same large case. I would also LOVE a case in something besides black. If you ever have seen inside a woman's purse you would understand how it gets lost in the "black hole". Why can't they make the cases in red or yellow or bright green?

Yeah, but like I said, small. And there's no reason the actual meter can't have the lancet device built in. So turn it upside down and there's a lancet built into the top. I'm picturing around the size of the UltraSmart all in one and maybe hold 10 strips. Have a slight loading chamber to push strips forward similar to that of a gun. Maybe I just envision too much, lol.

the iTest 3 is about the size of an insulin pen, and is a meter, lancet, can't remember if it holds strips as well... but it's definatly a step in the right direction.

As for the down grade... there's no harm in downgrading if you're not losing functionality that you USE. i dont use any of the extra functionality that my ultrasmart has anymore... i litterally test and read, that's all im interested in. That and being able to just put it in my pocket instead of carrying about that lumpy case.

Erm I have to own up and say I have never used the case, meter just goes in pocket test trips in the other with a lancet.

I like the meter with more tests stored thus I can work out my monthly/2 week average. I only use the 1 meter so I know what is going on all the time. I do have a spare just in case the meter should decide to die on me.
