I just got this meter today free from Bayer and must say I really like it so far. It uses different strips than the original breeze and is MUCH quicker on the tests. It's 5 seconds now. It only take 1/3 of the blood the original did, and seems to suck the blood up much quicker. The original's stiff case I didn't like as it seemed bulky, but this one is a soft one pretty much like everyone else uses and I like it much better. It's just slightly larger than my one touch ultra 2 but not enough to really notice.
I really wanted to like the original breeze, but didn't due to slow test results, large amounts of blood and less important the case. I really like this one, so much so that it may replace my one touch's. I really like the no touch test strips and I think these are a much better improvement over the original. I know most here are either in the one touch or freestyle camps and with good reason. Those that need the features of the ultrasmart especially, those are hard to beat. I do think this meter is worth a look though and not as easily dismissed as the original breeze. If you call them they will upgrade from the original breeze to the breeze 2 and they can be found free anyway so as I say it's worth trying out.
