THe past hour or so I have noticed something weird. I cannot breathe like normal. I can't really link to anythign other than diabetes. It just seems like my body doesnt want to breathe on its own, i have to do it for it!

anyone ever felt this?

Are your blood sugars out of range?

How's the pollen count where you live?

Eat anything unusal?

Got any allergies?

Not really something you should mess with. If you are having trouble breathing you need to get to an ER.

I have Congestive Heart Disease and have trouble breathing when I eat too much sodium. The fluid accumulates in my lungs and I have chest pains. I have had to restrict my sodium to under 500 mg daily to avoid the problem

Gosh, I sure hope you got it checked out fast, and that you are OK. The only obvious symptom of my second (and last) bout of DKA was trouble breathing (quick, shallow); I didn't notice other symptoms probably because i was sick anyways with some sort of winter cold. :(

thinking good thoughts for you,
j

The memories this place triggers: I once had this when I was hypo. I had to force myself to breath or I was going to croak. Hallucinating. Have you tested?

I went through a period where shortness of breath was a symptom of hypoglycemia. It wasn't so much that I was gasping, like when you've just run a race, but it was more that the air I was taking in didn't work very well, if that makes any sense. It's been a while, but I remember that being a very scary symptom.

I have serious trouble breathing when my blood glucose is high. And walking for that matter. Everthing hurts and aches. But the breathing is really bad. I also suffer from asthma and the two conditions seem to bounce off one another. I was always advised to use my salbutamol no more than ten times. If I still couldn't breath after using the inhaler call a paramedic.

well ihave ignored it pretty much the past few days. i have a little bit of a cold/fever. i woke up with a sore throat the past few days. i dont have asthma......I HOPE!!! there has been a lot of pollen in the air the past week. I really dont know what to say. its not that its really hard to breathe, just the past few days every once in a while i just feel my lungs kind of thumping and its annoying....

i'll give it a week. i have been under a lot of stress lately and i hope its just that. i need a vacation....

also my bg numbers have been kinda weird the last week or 2. i am coming out of my honeymoon and i am either in like the 70's or 80's, or i am at like 140 or 150. I dont really have a great balance yet...

I've had some serious breathing problems lately, and they've ruled out asthma, sleep apnea, pneumonia and blood clots. They've narrowed it to a restrictive lung disease... still going through more tests.

One doctor told me that I may need to move to a drier environment. I might actually believe that, as I'm originally from California...but we've lived here for 8 years. You'd think it would have popped up sooner.

Good luck to you finding out what's wrong. I've been at this since mid-January.

Sounds like a cold or bronchial infection. Go see your doc!
