Hey all you Paradigm pumpers!
Looks like Minimed has given the paradigm reservoirs a little tweak; apparently now you don't have to lock the transfer guard to the insulin vial anymore. I've heard it's a good change; makes filling a lot easier.
Can anyone contribute opinions on this? Anyone had the opportunity to try 'em out?

If I am correct then I have been using the new ones. I was told that previously you had to push down two clips to "lock" the reservoir to the insulin bottle. With the ones I have you just push the reservoir onto the insulin bottle and it holds on by itself. I have not used the other "locking" kind so I really can't compare the two but I have not had any problems with the non-locking reserviors at all.

Finally found some info from Minimed and even a little pic of the new reservoirs.

Medtronic Diabetes has updated the Paradigm reservoir design for easier use. The new design, introduced in early 2004, eliminates the need to compress and lock the blue transfer guard when introducing the needle into the insulin vial. Now, simply press the transfer-guard onto the insulin vial.

Both designs work. If you still have reservoirs that use the original design, please continue to use them through the product expiration date. Simply take care to use inventory according to the product expiration date. As soon as you open a new box of reservoirs, please refer to the enclosed User Guide instructions. Examine the reservoir to confirm whether it is the original or new style, so that you know if you need to apply additional pressure to compress and lock the transfer guard to the vial.

Part numbers for the Paradigm reservoirs remain the same: The 1.76 ml version is MMT 326A and the 3.0 ml for 71X pumps is MMT 332A.

I haven't had to purchase any reservoirs since last year, so I'm not sure if these are out in Canada yet. Anyone (kat :) ) know?

I have the old ones, and I think I will have them for a long time lol

So the only difference is in those clips? Big deal! I can push the clips no problem lol:p

Shy, i don't know if they are available in Canada, but I guess they will be by the time I'm finished with those I have:D
