Hi everyone,

I am a thirty year old male whom was diagnoised in 1979 aged 3. My father was also diagnoised at age three in 1952/3. I use Lantus split dose and Apidra as and when required. My HBAC1 results have been 6.6 for the last few years and my control is quite tight. I enjoy walking, rambling, camping and I am a surfer whenever I can get to the coast and rip up the ocean.
I work fulltime when I can as a croupier in the local casino. I love music and playing the harmonica. And have some really good friends whom I have known since childhood who seem to understand diabetes better than most consultants I have come across over the years. Also take part in many studies of diabetes type 1 for the local diabetes centre at the university hospital. And I like to try and help everyone if at all possible.

Just thought I would say Hello All

May the force be with you

Sounds like you're already doing a pretty good job. The hospital you have studies at - that wouldn't be RD+E/Peninsular Medical School would it? I used to see Suzie Hammersley down there when I was in Exeter.

No Its the Royal Hallamshire Hospital Prof John Ward Diabetes Centre ,Sheffield. Prof Solomon Tesfaye, Prof Simon Heller. Dr Sanjeve Ghandi and Dr Emma Robinson carry out the studies for various diabetes type 1 related complications. I am the healthy subject whom the compare the rest of the results against.
