Hello

I have posted a few times, but it occurred to me that I better say a formal "hello". I know a number of members here from elsewhere, where I am either the same nick as here or PattiP.
I am so pleased to see ppl that I know and intrigued to meet new folk.

I live in Penzance in Cornwall, UK - a truly beautiful area. I love cooking, walking, computers (contrary things), travel and entertaining friends. I can be found in diabetic chat rooms often.

I am some kind of diabetic (no-one does too many tests in UK) suffice it to say I was diagnosed 5 years ago age 56 and oral meds did nothing for me. A very skinny person at diagnosis I have now put on 3 stone (42 lbs - to our US cousins)... due to bad advice from a dietician. - and probably the horrible mixed insulin I started on. Am now on Levemir and Novorapid and no oral meds. Do well on this - hba1c has been under 6 for the last 3.5 years. I think I have a good handle on it all!

So - hello folks - I hope to join in often - life is fun and D WILL NOT get in my way of that!

Welcome Pattidevans, glad you could join our little corner of the internet. I lived in Hatchend, Middlesex while I was growing up. Now I am a Californian. Glad you could join us from across the pond.

Welcome

Hello Patti,
Welcome.I've read some of your posts when lurking on another forum. Your age at diagnosis and experience on MDI suggests we have similar 'types' of diabetes, though I was fortunate to be tested and treated as 1.5 from the start.
life is fun and D WILL NOT get in my way of that
Agree totally.

Hi Patti,
not much point in introducing myself to you or Kate as you both know me already.
Welcome!

Heather.
