For me breakfast and lunch 1:15
dinner 1:10
any snacks 1:15
the reason for more insulin for dinner is I believe that my lantus begins to run out and I compensate with slightly more bolus. Now i do need to do proper basal testing to confirm this theory.

i asked my diabetes nurse about whether i should adjust my basal time because of the evening readings, but she reckons that levemir lasts for the entire 24 hours, i know other users may have something to say about her comment!

Same here, but only for the last few months. It used to be 1:12, and I haven't honeymooned in almost 20 years. Funny thing is my basal hasn't changed at all.

Hi! About Lantus and Levemir (basal insulins) lasting 24 hours - well, not for me and not for many that I know about.
I split my dose of Levemir:
Lunch: 6 U
Bedtime: 6 U

Hi Shabbie
You may like to look at this
Novo Nordisk A/S - 404 (http://www.novonordisk.com/images/diabetes/pdf/Levemir%20Treatment%20Guidelines%20Jan%202004.pdf)
Novo themselves say that Levemir may not last 24 hrs. Mine doesn't.

This is an interesting thread. I am a type 2 and am fairly new to bolusing and I try not to use it if I can keep my carbs low. But I was started on NovoRapid at 1:15, then switched to 1:10 and now I think I need 1:5. I split my Levemir 60/40 am/pm as I tend to get higher after dinner. It is a constant battle to find the right solution - there doesn't seem to be any consistency in my numbers unless I eat very very low carb. And I manage that most of the time, but go into off mode more frequently than I would like.
