Have anyone had the dilemma of lunch or dinnertime and the hunger pangs are not bothering you?.
To anyone who has concentrated on good control you can get to easily to say no to food. Has anyone else find this trait?
I try to look at low GI food (If i get to eat) and find that i can stay off food to at least 48 hours at a time!!! and i don't think that i could do a 40 hour famine. Heh i wont go that far.
Don't get me wrong, I love food but i can quite easily go without. :)

Sometimes I "skip" a meal if my blood sugars are running too high, but there is no way I could go all day without eating.

When I had to fast for about 36 hours, I thought I would be "starving", but found the longer I went without eating, the less hungry I was.

Did i say that!!! Also i can be in a shop full of things that would tempt me to eat and all i do just look. Anyway 48 hours is a long time and it's an exaggeration.
You can easily gain control of your diabetes and skip meals without batting an eyelid.

Not the smartest way to do it though.
I skip meals, but only cuz i am not hungry at all. I've been known to go 3 or 4 days on one meal but all my bgs are up the creek after I DO finally eat!!

I skip meals also and never even think about it. Usually, it is because I am busy and the meals just escape me. I can go most of the day without eating until the 4:00 pm witching hour. Then I eat badly.

My husband has always done this. He will go all day without anything but coffee or Pepsi, then eat a huge supper and snack later in the evening. Then he can't figure out why he has bowel problems! I've been told all my life you have to eat breakfast, to stay healthy and not be fat (lot of good it did me)......he stays thin and hasn't had health issues until he turned 70!

I find that when you're are not in good control that you're are hungry all the time. :( But in good tight control the hunger pangs disappear and i don't eat full stop!!. So i litterly live on just the baseal insulin. If i do eat it's just the breakfast, That's all.

Are you trying to lose weight?

How does exercise fit into your control strategy? It seems like without eating regularly, exercise would be difficult. And good health isn't just controlling the diabetes, but getting the muscular and cardiovascular benefits that regular exercise give, right?
I don't mean to sound judgmental...just really, really curious...good cholesterol and blood pressure?

You can cause yourself some serious damage by not eating. You will have ketones in your bloodsteam if you do not eat weather you are diabetic or not. Also going without food for long periods of time will burn up all the stored glucogen in your liver and muscles which can result in a serious life theatening hypos.
Could also increase your risk of protein leakage from your kidneys which will cause non reversable kidney and blood pressure problems.
Sounds a bit grim but its a very dangerous thing to do.

I skip meals from time to time... If I am not hungry, then I just put off eating... I try to listen to my internal hunger cues.
However, for the most part, I do eat regular meals. :)
