We just bought a hot tub and I haven't used one since I went on the pump. (we had a tub for years that we had to leave with the last house we sold)
I plan on disconnecting while in the tub for 30 -60 minutes, but I'm wondering how that might affect the infusion set. Has anyone else tried this? Also, I wonder if the tubing could withstand 102 degree water so that possibly I could stay connected while bubbling away. I appreciate any comments. Cheers!

I have been on the pump with a hot tub before. I would recommend that if you do go into the tub then make sure that the infusion set is al the way taped down. and i would alsop recommend that you don't stay in for the full amount of time. Instead go in for 10 to 15minutes then kinda get out because the heat will drop your blood sugars pretty quickly. The tubing should be fins but i would just disconnect so you don't go to low.

I always disconnect when hot-tubbing. Yes, the heat will increase the absorbsion from the site, so I test when I get out and every hour for next 4 hours too. Ive never had trouble with the set not sticking, but check it when you reconnect.

Happy New Year to everyone!

I am looking for some information and was wondering if anyone out there can help me. I have a R tigger thumb and had 3 unsucessful cortisone injections into it and now I will probably have to have surgery in Feb. I am on a pump. For one week after surgery I will have stiches and the orthopedist states I should be able to bend the thumb after surgery enough to be able to change my sites every other day like I do now. I use the siloquette type of insertion needle.

Does anyone out there have experience with having trigger thumb rlease while on a pump? Can you tell me how long it took until your thumb was back to full use? Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Hi Emerald, I had trigger finger surgery almost 4 years ago. That was pre-pump for me and was on index fingers, not thumbs. It took about 6 weeks with 2 weeks physical therapy to get full use (more or less) of them. Im happy I had the surgery, theyre all better now. Do you use a Silserter? If not, maybe that would help. BTW, Howd the cortisone affect your BGs?
