Well, it has happened again. Got the big "A33" error message when my son was priming his pump today. Called Minimed and said it was due to some type of forced sensor/piston in pump. So we will be getting a replacement pump tomorrow. This will be the fourth pump in two years! How often does everyone else experience pump meltdown?

Have a great weekend:)

Yikes, I sure hope things get sorted out for you & your son, and soon! :(

I must say that in over 11 years of pumping, I've only had two "meltdowns," and they weren't really "meltdowns." One was an E-51 error (fatal error) on my 511 and I had an alarm (A-xx, can't remember exact number) on the other pump (my old 507). Both still functioned after the errors, so I was lucky there, but MM was also good about getting replacement ones to me in a timely manner.

The only errors I have ever got..
Um.. user error's
low/dead battery
low/empty cartridge
and a blockage.. turned out to be a crimpped cannula.
But errors, that cause the pump to shut down. None, and I am going on my 8th year of pumping (first pump was a disetronic Htron + and now Deltec Cozmo, and Aug 07, going for another Cozmo).

I have had a few errors in my 7 years of pumping. I had 2 errors when I was on the Minimed 508 (both of them had to do with the buttons not working - lots of spazzing!). Six months after I went on the 715 my pumped failed because of that A33 thing too I think. I also had another error but I think it fixed itself... I remember calling Minimed but I don't remember getting another pump. From what I can tell, good pumps vary from person to person. Seems like the luck of the draw. With every single pump company I know of someone who has gone through a ton of pumps in a short period of time, and I also know people who never have problems. Kinda frustrating!

I've been pumping just over 2 months and had to call for my first warranty replacement (Paradigm 522). One of the buttons broke...how, I have no idea.

My first week having my pump I went swimming and didn't put the water proof battery cap on. I got a "button stuck" alarm I couldn't resolve. Smith's replaced it, but after drying out for an hour it was fine. I also had a case with a magnet and didn't realize magnets were bad. It kept alarming. Smith's replaced this one too, but it ended up being fine when I removed the magnet. So, the first 2 replacements were unnecessary. The last time was cause a button pealed off. It worked fine, but Smith's overnighted me a new one. I've had my pump 14 months.

I've been pumping with MM for 7 years and have never had a pump failure. Like previously stated I think it's the luck of the draw and is like that with every company. Hopefully this will be the last time this happens to you. Good luck. :)

I'm sitting here waiting for the UPS man to deliver my 3rd replacement Cozmo in just over 2 years. The first one had to do with broken casing around the battery cap. The second one was a motor sensor error causing the pump to completely shut down anytime I bolused. This time it is the "button stuck" thing, and now the pump won't come on at all. My daughter has had one replacement in the same amount of time on her cozmo. It died after a swim, which unfortunately was during her honeymoon in Cancun. (note: they cannot ship a pump out of the country).
Doorbell.....YAY.....The dude in the brown shorts (they were really long pants) just made my day! I've got programming to do, hope I don't kill this pump for a long long time!

My 508 was remarkably resilient--after two years of ownership, it wigged out and stopped letting me push buttons, but it kept giving me basals, which to me was critical. MM got me another one next day.

My Cozmore has been steady in the nearly two years I have owned it...the only real issue I had with it where I had to call support for help was when I exposed it to a magnet--and that was MY fault.

Aaron's been pumping a little over a year, and we've had two incidents where his Animas had to be "rebooted" but nothing requiring replacement... yet.

Incidentally when we went to Ireland they gave us a loaner so we had a backup pump with us at all times, which was really great.
