Vegas....Are You Going?

With only 19 days till Vegas I'd like to get an official head count of those going. I know some have had changes plan and things come up...but if everyone could take just a few days to stop by that would be great. This can be the start of a longstanding tradition that can become a huge event for this website. Down the road it may then be possible to obtain sponsorships from pump and meter companies and maybe even get them to come out and talk a little about thier products for those interested.

Let's start a tradition this year and allow it to continue for many more years to come. I may already have an interest in a location next year. Actually, it's down to two locations due to events happening around them then that can make Diabuddies.com and DiabetesForums.com soar into the diabetes market. Of course, that info is top secret at this time. :D

Ummmm, no it doesn't if I'm involved. The only things I can keep secret in lives are ones that involve me or ones that I know need to remain private. The rest, well, that's open to the public. And I won't be bringing my video camera at all, but I will have my digital camera that can do video recording.

Unfortunately, my lovely teenage daughter failed 2 year-long classes in school this year, so I get to pay $360 for her to do summer school to make up 2 semesters of the four she failed. :( There goes my Vegas money.

I'm pissed, she's non-repentant, her dad (in GA) is mad at her, her dad (here) is not talking to her... it's ****.

She's always been my *good* student. Always turned homework in, always did what she was told in school (not at home, mind you), was the perfect example of a child who could have fun and love school at the same time. I don't know where she went. :( If anyone knows, could you please tell whatever alien that abducted her that I'd like her back, please!?!?!?!

If you don't want it happening again....Make the kid earn the money and pay for the classes herself! Send her a post card from Vegas and let her know what a good time you are having with the money you aren't paying for her goofing off. :D Went through stuff like that with my son his first year of college.....after one semester of taking his hard earned money to pay for classes, he decided he better do something else.

2 weeks are 14 days until the meet and greet. Come on people. There is only 5 of us going so far. What happened?

Hehe, you guys are funny... we're so on the same wave length. Unfortunately, I can't make her do anything over the summer to earn the money for summer school because she'll be in Georgia with her bio dad. I get her for the school year, he gets her for the summer. It's that way because we live 3000 miles apart. :( I'm sure that he and she would like to see each other more often than that...

Anyhow, her summer school is through the district's internet academy... unfortunately in our district, you must make up as much as you can in the summer after the failure. Her bio dad knows that I want him on her back all summer about failing and he's planning on making sure she doesn't slack off. The biggest problem is that he's supporting his mother and his wife and two children as well, so doesn't have a lot of extra money to pay her for doing stuff. Last year she was able to earn a ton of money by being a quasi-caretaker of her grandma, but he isn't sure she'll be able to do that this year. Oh well... I did tell her that if she doesn't get it done and keep her grades up to par next year that we'll pull her out and homeschool like we do with the other kids. It's a privilege for her to go to public school. Homeschooling is a lot tougher on them because I expect way above the standards set by the state.
