I joined this forum the other day and have had some fascinating reading. You all appear to be a cordial bunch.
I became glucose intolerant in 1980. Had a drink this and we test your blood every hour for the morning test and ended up out of the good curve.
1990 had an infection from a spider bite, wouldn`t heal up, doc told me I was hyperglycemic. Both times I was told, eat less sugar, get more excersice and you`ll be fine.
1999 diagnosed with diabetes with an A1c of 12+. Drugs lasted for 8 years (metformin and glipizide). Lost my health insurance 1991. 2002 Went broke. Fell into a crazy cycle of bad numbers, started going to the VA in 2006.
All was ok until 2 months ago, numbers skyrocketed and started insulin. Wish I had started this program sooner. My diet consists of 45g of carbs each meal, 15g snack twice a day. Drugs consist of novolin 70/30 50 units a day, metformin 2000mg a day, beta blocker, ace inhibitor, statin, asprin and a stomach med to counter the effects of the previous stuff. I ride a stationary bike for 1hr. a day (6 miles) and have more energy now than in the last 3 years. glucose daily average 115. Test 6 times a day.
I really enjoy reading all the posts over here, very active group. Jack

Welcome Jack.

Cordial means you want to strangle the rest with a cord, right?

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. As far as cord-ial goes, the only folks I`d like to strangle with that cord are the 2 docs that gave me no information and blew off the
pre-diabetic condition. Thank goodness for information available on the internet, it can be a lifesaver. Jack
