How low can you get before your bg meter won't read it.

Depends on the meter, think mine goes to about 1.2

Lorna's right, I think it depends on the meter. I have the freestyle flash, and I think the lowest is 20 (I can't find my conversion chart).

As the others have said, each meter is different. I have a One Touch Profile and the manual says it gives readings in the range of 0 to 600. I've got a One Touch SureStep and the manual says it gives readings in the range of 0 to 500. My Accu-Chek meter gives readings in the range of 10 to 600. It seems the lowest reading of most of the meters I've seen is 20 although I have seen one who's lowest reading was 30.

I told my bg today and all I got was err. Finally after a hamburger and fries it read 145.

What meter are you using? I've gotten an "err 05" mesage (I think) with my Prestige meter a few times, I'm guessing it was because my blood sugar was under 20. A few days ago, the paramedics treated me and got an "err" message on their meter and they said they get that when the blood sugar is below 30. Each time I didn't think to check it with a different meter to see what it would show.
