Well done!
For a lot of people the weight loss is the hardest part.
Remember that at first, you lose a lot of water so your drop in weight looks fast. It will slow to a reasonable amount weekly with proper management.
You are doing so well! Keep it up.

I like apples.
That is a LOT of weight in a little time!
How recently were you diagnosed? Any chance you're actually a type 1 or 1.5?
High BGs will also have you losing weight - but it sounds like you're getting your numbers under control nicely :)
You've made a lot of changes, so that could be all it is... if so, enjoy!

You are probably losing weight for a couple reasons. Mostly, due to your change in diet and activity level. Secondly, since your bg is still 3x what it should be (even though it's lower), you are still not utilizing all the glucose (calories) that you are ingesting. More than likely you are still passing sugar in your urine and giving your kidneys a good workout. The tighter control you get of your diabetes, the more every calorie will count and weight loss should slow. Welcome aboard and good luck. :top:

When diagnosed, I had lots of weight to lose (still do, but 56 lbs less than before). I was so scared to hear the diagnosis, I did a complete turn-around with eating, exercising, anything healthy I could do, I did...and the weight did come off, esp at first. I don't see from your post what meds you're on, but I think I remember from a previous post that you are on metformin..if so, that helps with insulin resistance and helps curb hunger as well. I think all of your positive changes are causing all the good weight loss results.
Sounds like you're trying really, really hard...GOOD FOR YOU!!! Keep up the good work.
Hopefully, as your blood sugars stabilize, your vision will clear. I do remember the blurry vision at first. It's always a good idea to see an opthalmologist annually with diabetes...i'd wait until your blood sugars have been controlled for a couple of months and things have stabilized first (that's what my opthalmologist recommended).
