My blood Sugar level is 190 at fasting and 232 at PP. What should I need to eat? I dont if I'm type I or type II. Can I eat Mangoes?
I'm taking dionil tablets.

You'll need to see a doctor. Your BGs are too high and your treatment regime isn't working. You should find out which type you are too, because that has a huge bearing on your treatment options and diet.

For now I'd stay off the mangos. Fruits tend to be high in fructose which will raise your blood sugar. Once you're well controlled you should be able to include fruit in your diet but for now I'd consider not eating them.

What Deus says: you need to see a doctor. Diet and exercise may work for you. If your heavy, losing significant weight can really help. But it is rarely a complete or final solution.

Definitely see a doctor.
That's the only way you will know what you need to be doing and what meds, if any, you need to be taking.

Hi & Welcome. As the others said, call the doctor! You should also limit your carbohydrate intake.

From my internet search, I see that Dionil is similar to Glucotrol, so i'm assuming you were diagnosed as T2 (though if you're not sure, i'd definitely have some testing to verify).

You didn't mention how long you've been on the medicine, but it doesn't appear to be adequately controlling your blood sugar.

I would suggest that you meet with your doctor and discuss the problems you are having with control. In the mean time, I wouldn't have a lot of fruit, as this will probably just make your blood sugars go high.

I'd suggest a lower carb diet, avoiding rice, pasta, potatoes, breads and sugar, eat a lot of fresh green veggies, lean meats and see if you notice your levels responding appropriately.

Are you testing your blood sugars regularly? This is very important to get good control. Have you had a recent A1C (blood test that shows 90 day average blood sugar).

Please keep us posted on your progress.

Hello Mukesh: :wavey:

Along with what the others have said, do drink
about 12 glasses of water a day to get rid of
some of the sugar in your system. Exercise may
help later in the day. Smaller portions of healthy
foods. It wouldn't be good to eat any white foods
like rice, pasta, (a small potato is okay but no more),
white bread or sugary foods.

You need to see your Dr. as mentioned to get your
treatment properly arranged. It would be a good
idea to write down all times of the food and beverages
that you have consumed, when you exercised, when
and how much meds., when and what your blood tests
were, etc. That will help your Dr. and you alot to see
trends. You should also learn to count carbs if you
don't already.

Good Luck and Welcome. :)

Dude, you have diabetes at those numbers. Go see an endocrinologist. Hmm from the name you have I'd guess your
indian. I have some indian friends from when I worked at welchs. You guys eat way too much carbs. If your not going to do a high protien / low carb diet (eat meat, fish, .. not bread etc.) then you are gonna need both long acting and fast acting insulin because your body isn't gonna do it on it's own.
So see an endo, before your numbers get worse.

I disagree with seeing a endocrinologist right off the bat. First I would start with seeing my doctor, then a nutritionist and if all else fails after three plus months and control is not working then perhaps I would see a endocrinologist. But a person has to give meds and diet a chance before jumping so far up the ladder. Endocrinologist should be seen if control becomes a problem and meds and diet is not working in my opinion.

One foot in front of the other, don't run until you walk.

Pl.do meditation and Ramdeo Baba's Yoga for an hour regularly. It may help you to some extent.
