Hi Neenee & Welcome to this great forum! We're glad you found us!

Most of us follow a low-carb diet and get in some form of exercise. If you're able to get around, walking is wonderful!

Hi Neenee, welcome! I'd ask your doctor to refer you to a diabetes educator who can help you with nutritional information.

Personally, I am T2, on an oral medication, and I follow a low carb diet. I avoid bread, rice, pasta, potatoes and sugar. I eat of lot of chicken, fish, green veggies, salads, the occ. sweet potato. For desserts, I have s/f jello or s/f pudding or a few strawberries or blueberries with a tsp of cool whip.

As the previous poster mentioned, any exercise you can do will be helpful as well.

Did you have an A1C (90 day avg. blood sugar test)? Are you checking your blood sugar regularly?
