Here we go again! I am having the same problems I had last month. I disconnect to shower or go into the pool and as soon as I go to re-connect, the **** thing won't go on.
I called Mini Med. Of course it's not a defect.........I am "squeezing" too hard when I go to disconnect, therefore causing it NOT to go back on when I'm reconnecting. Hmmm...........I was "squeezing" it the same **** way for 17 months and NEVER had this happen........now all of a sudden I am "squeezing" too hard? MM is willing to send me out one or two new infusion sets, but as I told the rep, I can't be changing sites 2 or 3 times a day because this keeps happening. She's going to look into the matter to see if there has been other complaints. Sure she is!
Anyone else experiencing this problem or do I need to be retrained? LOL

Is it a different lot number of sets you are having trouble with?
I have been using the Quick Sets for 8 months now with no problems so far. Unless you are really squeezing them hard they will not deform. It is a little plastic piece. It would probably break before deforming enough to make a difference. Sounds like it might be a bad set or two.

Karen I occasionally have the same problems you encounter. I get frustrated as heck when the the thing will just not connect no matter what I try. Me being a baby sometimes I go into crying mode.
I have tried the new Sure T infusion sets and you might want to request a free sample of them. They disconnect about 2-3 inches from the actual infusion site. Because it disconnects off the infusion site you are able to put more pressure into it and know that you won't be accidentally dislodging the cannula.

I've been using Quicksets for 6 months and haven't had any problems. Hope you get it sorted out soon.

I've had this problem too, although I assumed it was just
me being klutzy, which happens a lot. Eventually I do get
it on but it take me a couple of minutes.

Sorry for my ignorance, but are you referring to the Medtronic products?

I've been pumping for 18 months and using the Quick-Sets from day one. I NEVER encountered a problem like this until last month. I went through 3 sets before I called Mini Med with the lot number on the box and insisted they send me out a new box. They did, and I sent them back the 3 infusion sets stuck to a paper, along with the tubing, and a note explaining the problem. I never heard back from Mini Med.
This box is a different lot number and I am not squeezing or pinching the sides hard. I am connecting and disconnecting the same exact way I had been doing for 17 months prior to this problem. I am frustrated that I have to keep changing out my sites and that Mini Med always puts the blame on the pump user.

Happened to us last night for the second time. What happens is that the part that is connected to you gets twisted and then the top won't fit back on. We are using differenent sites in back and she must have twisted to hard and not gripped in the wrong place. The last time it happened a piece actually broke off. That was at least 6 months ago, so I didn't think that it was a defect in the sets. If it happens again, I will call and report it, but I really think that in this case it was user error. Of course I had just put the site in a few hours before.
