Kev, Dew, Car, Rikki it was so great to meet you. I can't tell you how much fun it was hanging out with you guys. Sorry about golf Kev, but something tells me you forgve me :D. I am only a mere man for christs sake.
Jen, I am really sorry we didn't get to meet, I was really looking forward to it seeing as how we talk often, but vegas flipped me upside down between night and day. I hope you got my message, I got the message you left me. Sorry again I got it late. Did you meet up with the rest of the group that night?
I didn't pass out the tshirts either, or play poker, but I hope everyone still had fun with the music and the great company. Dinner was great on Sunday too.
What did you guys do after Tuesday? I stayed an extra day to hang out with a friend there and just got back about an hour ago.
Viva las vegas! :D
How about amsterdam next year? :D

Brian,
It was a great pleasure & honor to meet you in person. You're a very kind-hearted & giving person, and a great guitar player! Maybe some time you could come & hook up with hubby! He too, plays guitar...I sing, so we could all make some music together, hehe! :)
We spent most of Monday afternoon with Kevin, and I fell on my a** LOL! Rikki, Carwy & I went to dinner on Monday evening. On Tuesday, the gang hooked up again & I bought dinner. Wish you could have come too, but we tried calling & only got the answering service (D'oh!). I understand, though. ;)
Cary & I had to leave Wednesday, :( so the day was spent driving home. It was a nice & safe journey, but I sure was tired, lol (made Carwy drive at least 1/3 of the trip!)!
It was such a blast & I had the most wonderful time meeting everyone!
Rikki, you're such a love. We have lots in common & it's so easy to talk to you! You're absolutely beautiful & I look forward to seeing you again in the near future!
Kevin, you're a cutie! Hope we didn't give you too hard of a time, but you know we only do it cause we love ya (& cause you're the baby of the bunch!)! ;)
Here's hoping we have another meet & greet in the very near future! Viva Las Vegas!
So Everyone, we are hoping that what happens in Vegas doesn't STAY in Vegas! All of us who couldn't make it are sure we missed a good gathering!
Thanks for keeping us posted. Can't wait to see more pictures.

Hi Mich! :)
I'll be posting pics, but it may take a little longer, as we had computer issues all day (& Carwy's computer - the one that has the media/card reader on it - isn't working at all). :s: Our firewall also decided to go on "vacation," so we had to rebuild it. Luckily, after hubby tweaked it, we were able to get back up & running.
Sunday, we arrived & Carwy & I picked Kevin up from the airport. Rikki had arrived earlier in the day, and Brian was already there. Brian took us to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. Yum! Rikki also gave us some cool shot glasses from Seattle! :) After dinner, we parted ways with Brian for a while, but went walking for a little bit.
Monday morning, Kevin, Rikki, Carwy & I all went to Brian's suite & had a great time. We talked, snacked on some cheese & tea, and listened to Brian play some tunes on his guitar (fabulous, by the way! ). Since Brian's days & nights were kinda "topsy turvy," he rested for a while while we went for a walk....I slipped on one of the steps, lol, and took a small spill. The weather was pretty hot (like 105 F or so), so after a short walk we decided to try & go over to Kevin's hotel for games (bowling, arcade, etc.). Kevin later went up to his room to rest for a bit, but we were all going to meet for dinner that evening. We tried to call, but I think he may have been resting, as we didn't get an answer.
Rikki, Carwy & I then went to a buffet at Circus Circus & walked around (went up to the midway, etc.) for a while.
Tuesday morning, Carwy & I met up with Rikki again, & went to Denny's for breakfast. We then shopped at a couple of places (i.e. Caesar's forum shops to go see Swatches, Outlet shops, Starbucks, etc.). We called Kevin earlier, but figured he was going to try to play golf or rest, so didn't want to bug him....We did meet up with him by Starbucks while we were out though, and made plans for the evening.
Rikki, Carwy & I then went back to the Stratosphere to do some swimming. That was awesome! The water felt excellent & it sure was fun!
Tuesday night, we (Rikki, Carwy, Kevin & I) went to Planet Hollywood in the Forums shopping mall for dinner. We had a great time & talked some more (& Rikki & I sang a little :D). We tried to call Brian, but he didn't answer. D'oh! :s: I owe Brian a dinner!
We then went back over to Circus Circus & played in the Adventure Dome. Kevin played some laser tag & played mini golf with Carwy & I, while Rikki took a break in her room to rest her feet. She rejoined us, and Kevin went on a water ride.
Since that was our last evening in town (hotel messed up our checkout date), we hung out with Rikki for a while in the coffee shop. Kevin went back to his hotel.
That was most of what we did while there....I may have missed some details, so I'll let one of the others fill everyone in. ;)

I'll say it was great to meet everyone. I'll post more when my laptop battery isn't about to die (as I'm at the airport now to go home.)
Brian....I just can't say anything. I'll leave it at that because if I say anything good I may say something bad, lol. And bad depending on how you look at it. So I'll just leave it at nice to meet you.
Dew....You're alot shorter in person. Grow up. LOL Thanks for dinner and the bracelet.
Carwy....You're so much better in person than on here. And you look great in health.
Rikki....no more smacking my head. I had a headache the rest of that night. And tell your husband to pull his head out of the gutter (or if he reads this then no need to tell him.)
Jen....not sure what happened. I tried to call you once and it went straight to your voicemail. And well, if anyone knows me, they know I hate leaving voicemails. And since nobody could get in touch with Brian we couldn't find out what was going on with you since we knew he talked to you. So blame Brian. LOL
To everyone else....I'll be posting more in the upcoming days about ideas for next year. I will be tossing quite a few ideas out there with regards to planning around events and such.
Just FYI....my total loss for the trip was -$19.72. Yes, I won money overall. And that was with nothing but gambling all day Thursday for about 7 hours. I have some video of once when I won $49.70 on a slot machine. LOL
Well, time to end this post. And for some reason, there's this random girl sitting across from me in the airport that keeps looking my way. She's kinda cute and I think on my flight to Milwaukee.

I've grown up, just not in feet. :eviltongu Besides, I LOVE being short!
Also, remember what I said about my ability to pick Carwy up...."Don't mess with the Dew!" :-
Have a safe trip home & let us know when you get there. Had fun & look forward to meeting again.

While I still ahve some battery life here at the airport I'll post about my idea for next year. This would be a huge one to pull off but I think totally successful if it all works out. Not to mention, that it would be highly informative for all that attend.
The Children with Diabetes site has an annual event called the Friends for Life Conference and Expo. This year it is hosted in Orlando Florida. Cost is around $250 but that is for the whole family. I may even be able to get a group discount on that if we get enough interested. Usually the event is right after the 4th of the July.
We have time to plan, but I like to plan way in advance. So thoughts, comments, snide remarks? Oh, and here's the website for more info on that....children with DIABETES - 2007 Conference and Expo (http://www.childrenwithdiabetes.com/activities/orlando2007/)
Tata...battery dying in 5 minutes. LOL Plane leaving in 65 minutes, what the heck do I do?

So, do you mean we can do an Expo of sorts? Rikki mentioned something really cool while we were swimming, and I absolutely love her idea....since it is her idea, I'll let her share it, but it sounded really good!
The biggest issue always seems to be location. Some live closer & can make events or meetings, while others either live too far away or cannot afford to fly/travel out to the festivities. :( That's a tough one in & of itself, so the "where" aspect really needs to be carefully thought out.

I haven't seen her post yet so has she made it back home? And as for a ADA Expo, I don't think one of those. Those are just ummm, well, don't seem like they'd be as useful. At least with the CWD Conference it's a week long (although I think geared more to type 1) and has many different seminars to go to.

I agree on that, but the location can be good and bad. A place like Las Vegas isn't going to make many people want to bring their kids there. There are tons of things for kids to do, heck, I did alot of stuff and only gambled about 10 hours of the total time I was there.
Of course, part of the gambling was not getting the coins and only getting paper slips is no longer fun. So I couldn't walk into each casino and drop $5 into a machine and then be able to walk back out. If I won anything, I'd have to go find a machine to cash it, and all that other jazz. Not as much fun as clinking coins.
LOL....Go talk to the "hot chick" giving you eyes from across the way, hehe!
She left. I think she was on the flight next to mine. And now mine is delay by at least 30 minutes due to the incoming flight being delayed. Although, their stupid airport screen still says mine is "On Time." Well, if they can unload a 727 with about 150 people on boad with all their luggage and then fill it back up again in under 11 minutes I'll be amazed.
Oh, and if you are wondering, I found an outlet for power. And now I just keep updating my flight info online.

I'm not sure where Rikki is. :( I haven't heard from her yet, so I hope she's alright. I called everyone, but got everyone's answering services, so I just left messages.
On the CWD type Expo, I think that would be cool. That said, I never meant we'd do an ADA type one if something were put together. I love Rikki's idea. Maybe I can PM you about it, but out of respect to her, I'd rather wait & let her share.

Yeah, paper vouchers & cards aren't nearly as fun as using bills & coins....Times have changed quite a bit with that. I wonder if there wouldn't be a way for the kids to be entertained by someone while the adults got together for their seminars or something...Not sure, but I can think of some ideas, perhaps. Not saying it has to be Vegas, but Rikki did mention that she'd have to travel across country if it were in Orlando. :s:

Dew isn't that short! You are just tall Kev. So no one saw Jen? :( . Hope that isn't my fault, I crashed so hard on monday afternoon. I was really looking forward to meeting her too. It was an honor meeting everyone. I think you are all great. My apologies again for letting vegas take up time I wanted to spend with you.
Adjusting back to 'normal' time is a BIG PITA!! If I were in vegas right now I would be asleep. It's a fun lifestyle out there, but I can only take a week at most of it.
I am down to meet anywhere for a Convention. Don't care where in the world it is, I just hope we do this annually.

Don't apologize, Brian. We all had fun, and it was awesome to meet you. You were more than hospitable to all of us when we came to your room, and dinner at the Cheesecake Factory was excellent! Thanks so much for that & everything!
I can't speak for Rikki or Kevin, but Carwy & I didn't get to see Jen. I know she was quite busy with her family, so that could be why she was unable to connect with us. At any rate, she's only a state away from us, so maybe we can get together another time! :)
Also, can't say how anyone else felt, but I for one felt like the lot of us "connected" in one way or another. It's great to meet folks in person and I no longer feel like a "stranger behind a keyboard." I look forward to meeting again and sharing more of our stories and learning more about one another.

I'm down for almost anything, too...Not sure if maybe a smaller town would be better, as everyone would be closer in proximity, etc. If we were to do a seminar/Expo of sorts, then perhaps we could get a discount, share suites (or something along those lines) to help in cutting costs?

THIS MAY COME AS A SURPRISE TO THOSE OF YOU NOT LIVING IN LAS VEGAS, BUT THERE ARE MORE CHURCHES THAN CASINOS.
NOT SURPRISINGLY, SOME WORSHIPPERS AT SUNDAY SERVICES WILL GIVE CASINO CHIPS RATHER THAN CASH WHEN THE BASKET IS PASSED.
SINCE THEY GET CHIPS FROM MANY DIFFERENT CASINOS, THE CHURCHES HAVE DEVISED A METHOD TO COLLECT THE OFFERINGS.
THE CHURCHES SEND ALL THEIR COLLECTED CHIPS TO A NEARBY FRANCISCAN MONASTERY FOR SORTING AND THEN THE CHIPS ARE TAKEN TO THE CASINOS OF ORIGIN AND CASHED IN. ..................
THIS IS DONE BY THE CHIP MONKS...!.:)
YOU DIDN'T EVEN SEE IT COMING DID YOU .? GOTCHA !!

Absolutely with the connection. I thought you were all great before I met you, it was wonderful to actually have conversations with you in person. The net just can't replace that.
We need corporate sponsership to cover our costs. I am not sure how we can get that yet.

Well Friday and Saturday my father and I saw the Blue Man Group, Mamma Mia, and went to hoover dam, and hoover dam is **** hot. Like holy c@#$ hot. It's also spectacular and if I had to do it over again, I would.
My father left Sunday morning. Thats when the hunt began. Found what I was looking for within in 20 min. at the bar. I am not good with girls by any means but something bigger was for sure at work here. We hung out a lot. We didn't have sex. Just made out a lot and messed around. She lives there, and is kind of a party girl, I think she didn't want to give it up because she was afraid I am going to ditch or forget about her. Seems like she has been bruised before. Awesome girl though. Incredible.
We all met at the cheesecake factory sunday night. Meeting the great people off of here was awesome. Human contact is just so important.
I think we owe Tony a tremendous thanks (and buy an effin bracelet!) for bringing us all together. Without him this couldn't have happened. I hope you can make it next year T, we will be holding your spot for you. Not a bad word was said about you and you were missed there.
In the Biblical sense?

I'll be the blue guy, but that's about it. I amazingly didn't have one drink my entire trip. I think part of it is because I didn't go to any nightclubs at all and I didn't gamble much till my last day (which is all I did that day) and I didn't want to drink then. I didn't hook up with any girls, although I did meet some cool ones.
I'm hoping for another fun trip next year.

I was just watching a Travel Channel show about Las Vegas, and saw my name in lights. Just wonder if it was a really old show, or if it is still there, and if you guys happened to see it. The lady who shared my name and had a big dance show dies awhile back, so I wasn't sure. I did not see Vegas at night the one time we drove through, so did not get to see it then, though I knew it was there. If you think you saw it, PM me and I will tell you if that is it. :)
