Hi everybody. My name is Amanda and I'm 29. 2 weeks ago I went in to have my gallbladder taken out. During my pre-op they drew some blood. I had eaten about 30 min before then. The next morning the nurse saw on her notes that the day before my blood sugar was at 100 and the surgeon wanted my sugars checked again before surgery. So she checked me and it was at 125. I had been fasting for 9 hours. A week later I went to see my regular Dr. and he told me that it looks like I have pre-diabetes and wanted to see me again in a month to do more testing. Right before I was about to leave I stood up and got really dizzy, started sweating, and felt sick to my stomach. He checked my blood sugar and it was 65. He gave me some oj and checked me again and it was at 74. About 10 min later I started to feel better. Well this past two weeks I have been experiancing symptoms that I have never felt before. On and off through out the day I feel really shaky. When it gets bad I physicaly shake, other times it's just the inside of my body that shakes. It's sspecially bad when I first wake up. Sometimes it gets better after I eat, sometimes not. Like right now, the shakiness is so bad it's hard to type. I checked my blood sugar with my uncles meter and it was 143. I have been really tired lately.( but that might be due to my receint surgery?) My mouth is so dry at times that I have to drink a glass or more to get my mouth normal again. My tongue also feels really weird. It feels tingly and sorta numb. And sometimes I feel it on my bottom lip. My face and chest has also been breaking out like crazy. I have never had more than 2 pimples at a time. Not even as a teen. Now my face is broken out all over the place. I also have been sweating out of nowhere. I will be just sitting here in a AC room, and I will get dizzy and start sweating. And my skin has been really dry. I try to put lotion on, but that doens't help for very long. And sometimes my heart starts racing like crazy even if I haven't been moving around. It feels like it is going to pound out of my chest, and it's beating really fast. Or at least that's what it feels like.
All of these symptoms started after I had my gallbladder removed. Is there a link to diabetes and this surgery? I looked online and a non-fasting blood sugar level of 143 for somebody that does not have diabetes is normal. Could this be diabetes or is there another sickness that acts like diabetes? Should I get in to see my Dr. sooner, or wait another 2 weeks like he said? And it's obvious that my blood sugars are not too low right now, so what is making me feel this way? The shaking is bad and I don't know how to get rid of it. Does all of this sound like pre-diabetes or even diabetes?
Thanks, and sorry this is so long. Any thoughts or info anybody could give me would be great! I'm trying to learn as much as I can, but it seems that every site says something different.
Thanks
