IF EVERYTHING GOES WELL AT THE ENDO OFFICE TOMORROW, SHE WILL START MY PAPERWORK FOR AN INSULIN PUMP. ANIMAS IS THE ONE OUT OF COZMORE & MEDTRONIC THAT I LIKE THE BEST. CROSS FINGERS THAT MY HBA1C IS LESS THAN 7. :afraid: :afraid:

I haven't used the 2020, but I've used the 1200 for 2.5 years and used the 1000 for 2 years before that. I've had nothing but satisfaction with the pump and Animas. I can say that the 1200 isn't much different from the 1250 which is just like the 2020.

If you are T2 and have resistance, you may want to reconsider the Animas pump. It only has a 200 unit cartridge. Cozmo and MiniMed have 300 unit cartridges.

I like my IR1250 but would not pay for the upgrade to the 2020

That is the only reason I am thinking of changing to MM. I need a 300 unit pump, As I pump about 90 to 140 units a day. It is getting old changing out the cartridge all the time. Also I can get my pump replaced prior to the end of the 4 year bumper to bumper warranty if the new pump offers something newer and better than the current pump. I would get the CGMS also. However I have been pumping with my 1250 for just under 2 years and love it.

After I prime with the 200 unit cartridge, I'm lucky to have 180 units left in it! That definitely is my major complaint also. I also have to refill the cartridge after nearly 2 days. :(
I tried the 2020 for several months as I participated in the study group for Animas before they released the pump. The color display is a nice upgrade from the older Animas pumps, but it does consume batteries faster.
There are some minor firmware improvements in the pump that make it more flexible, such as providing the ability to specify I:C ratio and ISF down to the 1/2 hour rather than pre-dictated 4-hour time slots. I was really hoping the pump would support an ISF based on current bg, rather than by time of day, but that is not supported yet in the pump. I was also hoping the pump would store carb data along with insulin and bg data history, but due to lack of PC software I don't know if the new pump yet stores carb data.

I'm thinking it's storing the data, we just don't have the software to pull it out and they don't provide a way to view it "in pump". Eagerly looking forward to the new 2020-compatible software "sometime in July".

I have the 2020 and am very happy with it. My main complaint isn't evena tech issue, but cosmetic. My silver coloring scratches extremely easily revealing a white plastic base with normal wear and tear.
But the color screen is awesome and the software upgrades are in the right direction.
I came from an IR1000 / 1250, so the smaller tank is a little frustrating. But alternatively I am not carrying that big black box pump either. It's compact and easy to use.
BTW, how come we haven't got pre filled cartidges yet?

Because insulin breaks down to fast in plastic cartridges therefore the insulin companies can't offer them that way.
There is a private company out there though that does offer pre-filled for any of the pumps. I think they simply just do waht you and I would do to fill them.

I have a 1250 and really haven't had any problems with it other than a battery exploding.. which wasn't even their fault. This caused the vibrator to stop working and they sent me a replacement, no questions asked.
Overall, I have been quite satisfied. It lacks some features that the cozmo has, but I don't even use the features it does have.

Every time I sit floating in my pool for the last 2 summers I'm glad that I switched to my Animas from my old Minimed. I've had nothing but good dealings with my pump and with the company. They've had to replace it twice, because I'm very hard on my pump and have cracked the case. Definately not a manufacturing flaw as I'm just as hard on my wristwatch, wedding ring, and eyeglasses. I'm just a bit of a "bull in a china shop" clutz when it comes to walking through doorways and such.

Just like w5 mentioned, watch out on the 200 unit limitation. Sure hope they come up with a 300 unit pump!
